Normally I have no problem with lawsuits. If someone has been harmed he's entitled to restitution. In this case no harm was done. If Kramer is forced to pay anything it would be an injustice. Everyone, even racists, has a right to speak his mind without having to be economically punished for it.

It's completely wrong to take advantage of such a situation. Whether or not "Kramer" is a racist isn't the point here. The point is that, instead of making peace with the guy and forgiving him, they are being opportunists.

I hope they win. Because the second the judgment comes down I will immediately file a lawsuit against every black comedian who I've ever seen making jokes about white people. The crux of their non-argument seems to be that they were held captive and forced to endure his ranting, which was specifically targetted at them. If for whatever assinine reasons these two guys win money from Richards, in order for you to build a similar case you'd have to attend shows by these black comedians and get them to specifically target you with insults.

Shouldn't be a problem. While we're at it, why not get a lawyer together to file a number of class action suits against individual black comedians who have targeted other audience members, like fat people and nerds and women? This is a great idea.

It's a cheap comic cop-out anyhow, picking on a member of the audience to direct attention away from their inability to tell real jokes, but it happens at just about every show I've ever been to (not necessarily to me). Maybe if we sue comics enough then some asshole politician with a relative or friend in the insurance industry will pass a law forcing comedians to pay for "offense insurance" so that we can pay even MORE to go to comedy clubs and continue to feed the insurance racket!
