For fuckwits and mentalists.

Where else would you have a convicted multiple killer bursting into the legislative assembly armed with pipe bombs, a knife and a gun, to be stopped only by the bare hands of security guards?

I don't see why you guys don't just give Northern Ireland independence. I wouldn't want them in my country anyway, to be honest.

Westminster?

I gather you are not a loyalist. I met two very nice republicans in rome two weeks ago. Had a charming time at dinner with them. Of course they accused me of sleeping with my mother and such.

I love the fact that the female security guard hit him on the head with his own gun. Thats gonna go down well for him in prison

I just wonder how long the reporter had been waiting to use that in an article - about an Ulster incident, no less. Shame they didn't also slip in that it was inflammeable material.

Kudos to whoever it is.

I just wonder how long the reporter had been waiting to use that in an article - about an Ulster incident, no less.

What you've done there is to confuse cause and effect: the song by SLF was called Suspect Device because it was a term already in use by the media in the seventies to describe potential bombs or incendiaries, and not the other way around.

Of course we need not mention that the song in question was a blatant rip off of the heavy rock song Space Station #5 by the band Montrose. That is self-evident.

I wouldn't be so sure... Most people in Northern Ireland don't actually care about it anymore, they just want a Government mature enough to sit down together. The problem is, the Politicians are still acting like they were thirty years ago.

IMHO, I think they should chuck everyone currently serving at Stormont out, take away their right to run in the election, and have a new election with new candidates.

And I'm actually from Belfast btw....

This clearly didn't happen, since guns are illegal in the UK.

Oh, wait. You mean that someone actually broke the law and carried a gun anyway? Wow. Good thing those guards had hands to stop him with!
:headbang:

Lucky the guy's an idiot, lest an actual killing spree have happened. That and he didn't arrive early and got his target(s) in the parking lot with a few civilians.

I dont think its the fact that guns are banned which is the problem here. I would have said it was the fact that they were civilian guards and not police

I'm just pointing out that the banning of guns has done remarkably little for British crime per capita.

Lets cut to the chase: the problem is not whether you have unarmed security guards or armed policemen - rather it is the fact that we have many unrepentent paramilitaries out on the streets as part of the early release scheme as part of the peace process. Thankfully Stone seems to be at the far end of the spectrum.

His idiocy was no obstacle to his last killing spree. Three dead and sixty wounded if I remember correctly. To say nothing of the other three killings he admitted to in a court of law.

Yes but it would be a hell of a lot harder to revoke the early release than replace the unarmed guards (in buildings like these) with Police. Although I do agree with you

The irony here is that a great many Ulster politicians do possess legally held licensed firearms for their own protection - I believe it is one of the results of the PTA.
