Is it at all possible to save a YouTube video on your computer? I'm kind of curious because I skimmed through the source code and it appears no. Not that I want to save any YouTube videos...;) *edges away*
So?
ALL HAIL YOUTUBE! The Second-best site after Wikipedia (http://www.wikipedia.org)!
Firefox extension called video downloader. All hail the slightly less evil browser.
I use this great program called iTube (http://www.benjaminstrahs.com/itube.php); it automatically downloads, converts, and imports YouTube videos to iTunes. Not sure how it works if you don't have iTunes, though...

Actually that one I dont know but theres another one if you go to mozilla.com>extensions>third column(download tools)>a few down that will make a little button on the bottom right. After that I think you have to download a player. So far, I can't get one to work, but I'm downloading VLC right now and its going painfully slow.

what do you mean? firefox is very much less evil.
FLV player (http://www.download.com/FLV-Player/3000-2139_4-10467081.html) comes in handy to play flv files. To convert them to another format, you can use SUPER (c) (http://www.erightsoft.com/SUPER.html) or Total Video Converter (http://www.effectmatrix.com/).

Why would you want to download youtube videos when bittorrent's around?

They always give the source code and URL in a textbox on Youtube (old youtube did.). Copy that text, create an HTML file and put in the copied text. And then you're done.

No, that still keeps it on the internet. We mean on the computer itself so the internet could be off and it still works.

Your'e talking about your Web browser, right, Sel? If you mean the Internet connection, saving the file locally works, yeah.

Nopes...I've tried that. You need to rip it off YouTube, so to speak.

In the Windows world.
In the Linux world, Novel and Mozilla are competing for the title of "The Next Mandriva."
Novel is winning.

Couse your lousy government killed the only site that had everything.

What the hell is a "noxt mandriva"?
I'm guessing it has something to do with night and Linux Mandriva.
EDIT: Oh. lol.
