Could you change your name daily/weekly/monthly?

I think i roughly understand the legal process for a legal name change. Filing out forms ,registration fees and finally a judge approval. My question is, if you decided that having a same name was much like wearing the same shirt every day, and you wanted to change your name as often as possible(ie as soon as you could reschedule a judge) is there any reason why you wouldnt be allowed to do this? we understand the need for the Government to be able to identify you and all changes would be legal and proper. But if you felt like paying the fees and going thru the insane paperwork everytime, is there any reason why this wouldnt be allowed? Would the judge just eventually say no you cant keep changing your name this is getting rediculous?

I don't see why not. Your money to waste.

Anything bureaucratic like that tends to cost money. Sure it might piss off the judge, but who cares as long as they get the money.

A good suit and tie costs money too. You wear both and some might say your name is worth far more.

Anyone have a clue how much a name change costs approximatly? I have no idea.

I think this differs from country to country.

As far as I know (i.e. I'm pretty sure but too lazy to go look for a source) here in Germany you need a good reason to change your name outside of marrying/divorcing/being adopted etc.

Usually that would probably be that your name causes you psychological distress in that it makes you a subject of ridicule or something like that.

As far as the bureaucracy is concerned, you're just a number anyway. So your name is quite irrelevant and there shouldn't be much of a reason you can't change it as frequently as you want.
I don't really see why you'd want to change it officially though, or why you ought to have an official name in the first place (considering you already have a unique identifying number). If you change a name that frequently, it's much cheaper to keep it informal.

\. If you change a name that frequently, it's much cheaper to keep it informal.

Its also cheaper to change from a T shirt into a different T shirt then it is from a suit into another suit. Yet people do it daily. And not nessesarily just for work reasons.

If you can get past the work and expence i can really see the humor in playing with your name. If your going to travel abroad to England next week have your name changed to Duke Wellington-Ellington or somesuch nonsence. Then just change it to something else when you got back. The possibilities could be endless and used with much creativity.

In Germany name-changes are only possible if certain preconditions are met and rather expensive - Which is a real shame!

I am not a number! I am a free man!Unfortunately what you are, and what you're treated as (or seen as), doesn't always correspond.

Its also cheaper to change from a T shirt into a different T shirt then it is from a suit into another suit. Yet people do it daily. And not nessesarily just for work reasons. And likewise I can't generally understand them. I mean, it'd be one thing if they looked good in 'em, but often they have cheap illfitting suits that just look sad.
But hey, if that's what people want, who am I to stop them; I just don't see a point to it myself.
