Brash, Phil and Brethren (NZ domestic politics)

I'm mucking about on the computer with the tv on in the background, and then I hear 'Brethren'. Of course most NZers will know that the Brethren are a hot topic with all the drama over National Leader Brash's emails, the Brethren pamphlets, and Nicky Hagar's book. So my ears pricked up and I started paying attention to the tv and it's Doctor Phil of all things.

The story is about a father who kidnapped his children and took them to live in a remote South American community of Brethren (a Mennonite chapter). I thought to myself, 'gee that won't be doing Brash, National and the NZ Brethren much good', and before I could even finish the thought a ticker tape headline runs across the bottom of the tv screen announcing that Brash has stepped down as leader of the Nats. Talk about uncanny timing (from my point of veiw).

So does anyone intend to get Hagar's book, anyone curious about those emails, and does the 'outing' of the emails in the book (or at least their contents as must be the case if the book got caught up in the suppression order) render the suppression order untenable? (I know that in one case where info was supressed in NZ the subsequent publishing of the info in Australia led a judge to dismiss the suppression order.)

So will we get to find out the contents of the emails without having to shell out for Nicky Hagar's book? Will Key step into Brash's shoes, or is he 'equally tainted' by Hagar's book and the email debacle? More to the point, to what degree (if any), do we care?
