Well, if any of you have been watching the US weather reports, Southern Virginia and Northeastern North Carolina are being slammed by a very nasty noreaster. Unfortunately, I'm in this crap.
So the winds are ten miles an hour away from hurricane status, and two counties cancel school cause of all of it. What does my county do? Not cancel school of course! Never mind it's a half day and expected to get worse after noon! (we get out at 12:10 at the high school, everyone else gets out at 12:30). So, apparently CCo wants us to get completely soaked and blown away to freaking Tennessee as soon as we get off the bus. Nice. I just love this county.
So this morning I wake up late after this weird dream about dying and going to heaven to find out it's controlled by many Gods (don't ask). As I'm getting ready, my mom offers me a ride to the bus stop (it's not far from my house, just a two-minute walk, but it's that nasty out there ). As we're waiting at the bus stop my neighbor comes up to tell us that there's a two-hour delay... on a half-day. This means we're only at school for about two hours, so Mom lets me skip. We come home and my sister is getting ready, and we both watch teh news for delays for our schools. My county, of course, is not on there. My sister calls a few friends. One says there's no delay, another says there's only a delay for the high school.
However, I have to turn some money in the a tux combo for the holiday band concert, but I'm not going either way. My mom calls the school and finds out there wasn't a delay in the first place ( this is very typical for my sorry f*ck of a county). Now my friend is over and it turns out her dad saw our bus (#105) come. So now we're teh late, my mom has to get to work, and drop my sister off. I can turn in the money on Monday, but I'm still skipping.
:headbang: GRR!!! I wish I lived in Elizabeth City!!! :headbang: Their schools were closed today! :upyours:
And here's all teh nastiness (http://www.weather.com/maps/news/forecastsummary/secoastalstorm_large.html?from=wxcenter_maps) -- The local news website was being asinine.
