how crap are we? LOL

Its enough to make a grown man cry. Still it could be worse...we could have Boycott managing the team!

Bloody good cricketer though, and I'm sure those allegations weren't proved.

I like Gower actually, he's better than Botham...

Yeah...but then again he was a glory seeker as well.

I don't think you can compare Beefy and Gower...

I really don't like Boycott.

As a commentator he's a tedious know-it-all, who can only criticise & never made mistakes when he was playing.

As a batsman he was selfish, boring to watch & so slow scoring that it didn't really matter to much if you didn't get him out, he didn't hurt you too much on the scoreboard.

lol @ Gilly throwing to the break.

I liked it when he hit the three consecutive sixes. After the second one, Michael Slater asked Gilly if he could hit three in a row. So he did! :D The third one was a massive, massive hit too.

Anyone following the one-dayer, Aus V England at the MCG?

England are 4/171 in the 39th over. Pietersen & Flintoff are in.

Yeah I got it on here. I guess if there is any pair on the england team that can actually do something interesting with the bat, this is it.

McGrath just hit Pietersen in the ribs. Pietersen's gone down like a sack of shit & the physio's on the field treating him now. If England lose him, they're in real strife.

You must be psychic. From 206/4 in the 43rd to 211/7 in the 47th.
Aussies have taken 3 wickets for 5 runs.
Another English capitulation as usual?
Like a yappy little dog, they snarl and growl at you as you walk past, only to roll over and wet themselves when you get close enough.

edit: Flintoff played well though (47 off 38).
Oz chasing 243 to win. Shouldn't be much of a problem, unless something goes diasterously wrong.

Oz off to a flying start but brakes put on at the moment. For how long though?

England go down by 8 wickets and lose their best batsman for 4 weeks with a broken rib.

KP is out of one-day team due to hair-line fracture of the ribs until the World Cup.
I hope England have a good replacement!

harsh....but sadly true.

I've always said that the big problem with UK teams (of nearly any sport bar rowing) is that once they win they fail to continue to win...

pathetic.

And yeah...I am English and it pisses me orf! LOL

Just watched the highlights on the old telly...

oh dear.

That was pretty dire.

Something like 78,000 watched that game. I doubt you'd get crowds that size in the UK...not for a ODI.

I don't get it though. Crigget is so English...and there are plenty who enjoy the game...yet...yet...its just not quite there anymore...

Rest assured that they don't.

I meant to go and watch a match at the Gabba, but I don't think I'll bother now. It'll be a waste of money...if KP isn't there, England can't score more than 200 in an ODI.

I assume that this would have been brought up previously, but perhaps a thread encompassing the entire triangular ODI series is in order? Something with a grandiose title like '2007 VB...', I mean, '2007 Comm Bank ODI Series'. ;)

Meh, this has just turned into the de facto cricket thread, and I'm happy enough with that.

Australia: 289/8 after 50 overs. Bond gets tonked and then takes a hat trick. If I remember rightly, Danny Morrison is the only other NZer to do that in an ODI.

I thought it was a really good effort from Bond to come back & get a hattrick, after those wides & no-balls, and White really getting after him.

289 is going to be a tough chase for NZ though.

Edit: Just saw the ODI thread (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showthread.php?p=12207309&posted=1#post12207309), I'll post in that one from now on.
