Which is worse?

So, I think that we have finally reached the bottom of the barrel on NS topics. But anyways, what is worse; Sitting on a really cold toilet or sitting on a hot, sweaty toilet?

For me sitting on a hot, sweaty one is worse, as it implies someone else was on there for a long time right before you. However, sitting on a cold toilet when I really have to go is rather uncomfortable as well. I mean, when you are clinching it in, and sit down on an ice cold toilet seat, it makes you jump up, or lose bowel control, or both.

That's a good question, and my definitive answer is squatting over a hole that you dug yourself in semi-wilderness during a thunderstorm.

The cold seat will warm up after about a minute, though, so it's the least uncomfortable.

And then realizing you didn't bring anything to ... tidy up with afterwards.

living in England I can say that I would kill for a nice warm toilet seat (why are toilet seats so cold it makes no sense!)

Hot, sweaty toilet. I really don't mind a cold toilet seat - it's what I expect every time I sit down.

As long as the toilet is clean, it doesn't bother me. Although, as Kanabia said, a cool toilet seat warms up pretty quickly.

A cold toilet seat can be quite refreshing sometimes. A hot and sweaty toilet seat is just icky.

As long as the seat is poo-free, I'm fine with cold or hot.

warm is worse

i just got back from vacation in aruba. they desalinate their water and distribute it through above ground pipes. its always warm.

even knowing that the toilet is warm because the water is warm doesnt make it feel any less creepy to sit on a warm toilet and brush your leg up against a warm toilet bowl. it just feels wrong.

Would losing bowel control be that big a deal?

I suppose that depends when, if ever, you get it back again. :p

If you sit down on a cold seat, and it makes you jump up, then yes. That'd be a horrid mess to clean up.

The second option definately, it's not so much the hot... but the sweaty part that I don't like.

the barrel of ns topics is bottomless.

*goes off to start a thread debating that fact*

I'm Canadian, cold toilet seats are a fact of life in winter. You get used to it. This thread us worse. After all, when you gotta go, you gotta go.

Which is worse, cold or warm seat?
neither.

These are worse:

Chinese public toliets.
Believe me, after being forced to use one of these examples (fried pigs intestines just didn't want to stay in me for some reason), a warm/cold seat is the least of my worries.

I dunno, i've always found something satisfying about the whole digging a hole in a peat-bog at night in the rain procedure... it's certainly preferable to most public toilets.

Not hardly!

But anyways, what is worse; Sitting on a really cold toilet or sitting on a hot, sweaty toilet?

Worse than either is sitting on an actual HOT toilet seat, as happened to me earlier today. Japanese "Washlet" style toilets have a heated seat. Some evil person had turned it up quite high, enough that I'd have gotten a burn on my tush if I'd done my business, as I discovered by almost sitting on it.

That's a good question, and my definitive answer is squatting over a hole that you dug yourself in semi-wilderness during a thunderstorm.

The cold seat will warm up after about a minute, though, so it's the least uncomfortable.

That's not so bad, except for the thunderstorm.

Out of everything, I'd say the nasty third world squats, like DM posted, are the worst. Especially when the TP cannot be flushed (clogged plumbing issues), and must be deposited in a wastebasket.
