After death?

What do you think happens after death? You can take it as simply or ornately as you want.
Of course, you don't have to be a thiest of any kind to have a destiny for after death. Some athiests are buddhists who beleive in reincarnation, if you want an example.

Nothing. You just decompose and fade away. Or just burn and fade away, if that's what you choose.
I don't think there's any more to life, than what we make of it now.

Personally, I subscribe to the world view that it's too unfair that we live and die in such a short lifetime that I've come to find it quite logical that reincarnation and karma are active forces in the universe.
As you may have guessed from the example of buddhism, I am Buddhist, but I'm agnostic. There's no overwhelming evidence for any side of that particular discussion.

My gut feeling says nothing, just food for worms.
But I do like Terry Pratchett's approach to it : whatever you believe will happen, will happen. :)
In which case it's still nothing for me.

Whoever told you that the world was a fair place was lying to you.

Once you die your body is removed from your cold metallic chamber, the tubes connected to your body are disconnected by machines as you are no longer a sufficient power source.

Not saying the world is a fair place explicitly.
I'm just an idealist. I beleive that if the universe has a greater purpose, there has to be some justice in the shortness of our lives.

Unless its the 2nd option. Then, you are probably screwed, as it's kind of too late then.

Matrix references? I thought that fad stopped after the 3rd one, which was severely disappointing.

I subscribe to the view that the universe is fundamentally unfair. Humans created the concept of fairness so there's no reason for the universe to adhere to it. Therefore I find it quite logical that there is precisely naffink after death, you just die. Its sometimes quite scary, to me anyway.

QFT.
I would also loved to vote for Pratchett's choice: Whatever one believes that will happen. Some will reincarnate, some will go to heaven, some will get nothing.

I have two theories:
The first is that at the moment of death, when all sensory input ceases, the neural activity remaining within your brain consists of a conscious reality that stretches on indefinitely as the passage of time becomes virtually meningless without external input. This reality, created by your mind is a perception of your life and your afterlife. In other words, if you believe in Heaven and that you are worthy of Heaven, then you go to Heaven. If you believe in Hell and that you deserve Hell, you go to Hell. These realities are created by our memories and life experiences. Of course, there are other possibilities. If one envisions a new universe and a new life within it opening up before you, then you will be reborn. If you believe that there is nothing beyond death, then all you find is nonexistence.
My other is Frisbeetarianism; that when you die, your soul goes up on the roof and gets stuck. *nod*
I'll find out when I get there, which hopefully is a very long time from now.

You don't have to be a thiest of any kind to have a destiny for after death. Some athiests are buddhists who beleive in reincarnation, if you want an example. Well, actually you do. Even if you hold your 'self' as the divine, there's still divinity.
I don't know what happens after we die, and it doesn't matter. What matters is what we are now.

a "game over" screen comes up, and you can load you last save.
or are you talking about reality?
I imagine it'll be pretty much the same as before I was born.
