Do you like it where you live?

Other than the hellish traffic on the freeways here, I'm pretty satisfied with Los Angeles. You can find anything you want here. I wouldn't move anywhere else, well maybe except to any city in Texas, because I like Texas. *runs away*

Eh, the politics suck, as in the leanings some, indeed most, of the structure stuff I quite like, but other then that its all right. Of, course I live in the largest cit in the state so there are actually things to do here, it would probably suck a bit more if I lived out in the country. I know my cousins tend to complain about there not being much to do.

Wouldn't live anywhere else; extremely low crime rate, excellent education (one of the best systems in at least Europe), the friendliest people I've met anywhere, weather to keep you guessing, buildings that a beautiful, and a view of the countryside no matter where you are in the city (just to keep you sane).

I used to live in Midland, snobby little town built around a chemical plant(always smelled like brine, and its alleged that Dioxins are spilled all over the place). Everyone there was either a redneck or horribly stuck-up. I like Dearborn much better.

I like where I live enough. My town is small enough to not be a city (25,000 people) but big enough that there's a few things to do.

As for the weather, I spent a year in Iraq so I'll take the blistering cold over that bullshit any day. Also, the long crappy winters make you appreciate the summer more.

Melbourne is a pretty cool city to live in. (although the weather can be a bit irritating, that's my only real complaint) Some areas are a bit dangerous in terms of crime but they're fairly easily avoided.

I live in the outer suburbs, but even then I have access to almost everything I need within walking distance. But if I want to travel within the city the public transport system is good (comparative to most other cities...it certainly does have its problems, but can generally be relied upon.)

The only downside is not much diversity, except when you go down to the mall. There are minorities sure, and no racism, but almost everyone is white. Having lived in a very diverse neighborhood when I was younger, I don't like the change. And considering I'm hugely biased in favor of Asian girls, this neighborhood can be a nightmare. There are almost none in sight. :(

I personally do know winter clothes, having spent four of those bastards of a season in northwest Arkansas--seasons are overrated. I'll take my choice of summer and not-summer, thank you very much. But for year's end, I'm going to Denver for my brother-in-law's second marriage, so I'll be breaking them out of retirement and hoping they still fit. Snow pants, thermals, wool socks, the whole nine.

I really like where I live because of the opportunities.
The opportunity to make money - I'm on 3x what I was back in NZ and doing less teaching.
The opportunity to travel - this year, I've been to Tibet, Shanghai and Taiwan.
The opportunity to do things I would never of thought I'd do - eg. on Sunday I paddled around Hong Kong: 48 km in 4hrs 40 minutes.
The opportunity to meet people - On Saturday I was having dinner with friends and something struck me: There we were in a Malaysian/Indian restaurant being served by a Thai waitress, 2 Germans, 2 Canadians, 1 American, 1 French, 1 Finn and 1 Kiwi.
Where else in the World can this happen?

Good deal. There is another place just like your home, but it's best not to say it. That's the funny thing of near-paradises. Once word gets out about it, everyone flocks to it, and the awesomeness is eventually spoiled.

I live in the middle of no where in Oklahoma. Oklahoma City is about 70 miles from here. Though anyone who thinks OKC is a large city is mistaken. It has about 600,000 people.
It's extremely conservative, in the middle of the bible belt. My town has about 2,000 people, a bar that's only open Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights. One conveniece store that's open after 8 pm, two fast food restaurants, one cafe that's open for breakfast and lunch only and closed on Sundays. And fifteen churches. Not counting the Jehovah's Witness Kingdom Hall.
I moved here to be close enough to help my mother, who's in poor health. The only good thing about the fact that she won't live more than a few more years is that I can move someplace civilized when she dies. Maybe back to Austin.

well it isn't part of the uk or the eu, you're right. but it is counted as a british island (even if it isn't part of the british isles archipelago) and we have british passports. but we don't pay british taxes so i count as an international student at university. it's a funny situation. but i was born in aberdeen anyway so i have no problems as regards to the eu. jersey is basically british but it suits us and the british government to pretend that we are nominally independent and allow us a large amount of self-determination because that way we can maintain our tax haven status with all its advantages.

If you don't like where you live, where would you rather be?

i certainly do like it here :)
the city is small-medium sized (as cities go) at about half a million people, but its divided in half by a estuary, and then my half is further divided by a river. as a result you get (in my area of the city) a small-town feel with all the big-city amenities you could want on your doorstep (as the main commercial district happens to be in my 1/4 of the city  )

great rail links to the rest of the country - especially london.
great motorway links with Southampton being the destination of the M3 to london.
our own airport which is massively expanding

we're an industrial port and the major financial centre for the south coast, so pretty much whatever the economy of the country does, we're less affected than other areas with our own industrial lifesblood

we're linked to nearby Portsmouth, a similarly sized city, by the M27, and there are towns all along the way, meaning this is actually part of a larger (1m+) conurbation

Winchester, beautiful and ancient capital of england, is just round the corner. as is the New Forest. and we have Southampton common (a 400 acre ancient park) inside the city centre and just at the end of my road

we have 3 universities and a huge national-elite hospital, and one of the largest shopping malls in the whole of Europe (i think its the 3rd largest)

in short, i do very much like it here :)
the only thing its missing is some mountain scenery :p

I suppose Arizona's alright, other than the mind numbing heat in the summer, the weather's great. It's technically winter right now and I still have the AC on!

I like it in Florida, except when there are hurricanes or it gets too hot.:)

Yes! I like Berlin a lot. Can't think of another German city I'd rather live in.

I can get used to almost anything, though, so I guess I could live lots of places without neither really hating it nor really loving it. *shrug*

Yeah, it's nice.
