If it's a great present for him, tell him your returning it, don't, but get him a tiny something else. And hide it better. Or give it to him now, and make the kids get something extra for him. Or something.

Take back the presents for your kids and give those to your husband.

He's a big boy now, he can live without a Christmas surprise. (If not, I sugest trading him in for a newer model.) Seriously, having a surprise on Christmas in nice but not a necessity for adolts - if the kids had unwrapped his present to you, would it ruin your Christmas? Since it is still a while before Christmas, if you come accross some smaller gift for him before Christmas, you might think of getting to add toyour already known gift and make it somewhat a surprise, but don't stretch yourself to make it a surprise.

Unless the surprise is a major part of the gift it shouldn't make a difference, and if it is then the kids ruined it and you have to get a new one.

1. Get a smaller gift.
2. Put the smaller gift and the other gift you already bought into a box.
3. Wrap that box.
4. Now you have something different for him to surprise with.

Yea, make him think you've returned it and present him with something really crappy on Christmas morning. Then, after laughing at the look on his face, present him with the present he's already seen (preferably wrapped to look like anything else), and all will be saved.

I'd second the people saying just buy something extra, but small.

Cancel Christmas! This will save time and money, while teaching your children the valuable lesson that parents can be unpredictably vindictive and vengeful beings of almost mythic power. Of course, I have no children, and wouldn't be paying the therapy bills that would undoubtedly result...!:)

Eh just tell him you took it back, and got something else, and then hide it better.

kill the kids. Use the saved money to travel. Or something.

you bought him a good present, dont take it back.

wrap it back up and keep it under the tree.

go get him another present that will be a surprise. it doesnt have to be big or expensive just a surprise.

you probably dont have to worry about the kids opening any more presents before christmas eh?

when my son was your kids' age i used to tell him that i kept his presents hidden in the attic (i kept them in my bedroom closet). the strange thing was that we didnt HAVE an attic but he still believed me. he never stumbled upon his presents before i wrapped them up.
