So for those who don't know an ex KGB agent who is now a British Citizen has been poisoned. The main suspect behind the plot..President Putin. This can be taken as an attack on a British citizen by a foreign agent so there could be a little bit of an international incident. But do you think the Kremlin is responsible or was it someone else? Some suggest the guy did it to himself to embarras the Russian government The ex Agent has been poisoned by Phallium, one of the worst poisons in the world.

Thoughts?

It's Thallium.

Yours is a lot funnier, though. :p

my uneducated guess would be putin, or at least someone closely related to him.

Just so you know ... the 1st verse of the Elements (http://www.edu-cyberpg.com/IEC/elementsong.html), sung to the tune of the Major-General's song from Pirates of Penzance ...

There’s antimony, arsenic, aluminum, selenium,
And hydrogen and oxygen and nitrogen and rhenium
And nickel, neodymium, neptunium, germanium,
And iron, americium, ruthenium, uranium,
Europium, zirconium, lutetium, vanadium
And lanthanum and osmium and astatine and radium
And gold, protactinium and indium and gallium
And iodine and thorium and thulium and thallium.

Phallium ... forms long, stiff crystals that shrink as the temperature drops.

Damn, yours had a catchy title :(

Calling Thallium one of the worst poisons in the world is a bit much though. Yes, it's deadly, but cyanide would have been deadlier. Swifter acting, too, leaving less trace in the body.

In addition, when certain compounds of Phallium are stimulated with kinetic energy, this may be the catalyst for a chemical reaction; one byproduct of which is a glutinous sub-compound.

Semenium?

EDIT: Or do you mean the salt of Ejaculatium, Ejaculate?

Botullinium Toxin would wipe the floor with both.

Which is exuded only from one end of the crystal.

Botulinum Toxin? Yeah, fair enough, I was just suggesting cyanide because of its metabolism in cells, leaving less of a trace. Plus the target gets almond-fresh breath :D

Yes, but the BoTox would leave the target with unwrinkled skin. Remember, you should always try to leave a good-looking corpse.

Touché. Come, join me young poisoner, and we shall leave beautiful corpses with marzipan breath all over this thread. AHAHAHAHA!

On another note, I reckon if the Kremlin's not got something to do with this it'll be a surprise. That, however, is based on circumstance and conjecture, the staples of this forum.

I may be older than you, but yes, who shall we poison and beautify first? :D

My favorite Kremlin assassination was the Bulgarian Umbrella, spring-loaded to inject a poison pellet. Only really good in the UK and in particular London, where people carry umbrellas all the time.
