So Thursday is Thanksgiving in the U.S. If you celebrate, are you hosting dinner? Are you bringing anything special to dinner?

I'm headed over to my boyfriend's parents' for dinner this year. They assured me they would take care of dinner, but I want to bring a side dish, preferably one that will keep in a three hour car drive through the desert. Green bean salad it is. :)

Considering that I don't live in the US ... no, why would I?

It is easy, and it's gross. Do a pie. Everyone likes pie. ;)

But then my Life-Long Bachelor Brother-In-Law would have nothing to bring to the feast! ;)

Morganatron, you should have allowed multiple choices. I voted turkey but I might have added 'taters (precioussss) and cranberry sauce, too.

As for all our friends in other lands, I'll think kindly thoughts for you as I sink into my post-prandial stupor on Thursday evening. :p

Not American, I had my Thanksgiving a month ago.
But! I must say that the bird and the taters are the best part of the meal.

Meh. I'll just wait for the galette des rois (http://blogsimages.skynet.be/images/000/742/466_acea4006e8d182b1736e760e42d8d629.jpg) in January (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/King_cake).

And Christmas and New Year before that, of course. ;)

I didn't even know you could do that with these polls...this is only my second ever thread.

Otherwise I would have voted for both taters and foosball. :D

What winter holiday hasn't? I already have the eye-twitch going and it'll probably not subside until January.

Yeah, there's a check-box or something for multiple choice. And I can see Sam Gamgee looking at us and shaking his head, "Well, ye can have some 'taters, no trouble, but why are you all talking like that Gollum creature?"

Yay, thankee for the info, I'll remember that for next time.

I bet they can, though their real specialty would be a great dish of mushrooms.

My family always makes 3-4 pies, so I have to go with pie. We will go up to Boston to go to my uber-rich aunts house. Some of us will play football, and I will have a good time playing the tons and tons of video games my cousin has. It'll be fun.
