More Taser Mayhem

I notice in other threads that some posters are concerned that people entrusted with tasors do not in every case know what it feels like to be tasored. Here at least is one Police Officer who definately knows what it feels like to be on the receiving end of a taser.

From tvnz.co.nz (http://tvnz.co.nz/view/page/411365/895064)
The constable was loading his weapon when he accidentally blasted himself with the stun gun's 50,000 volts while trying to stun a man at the centre of the incident last month

Another shot hit the man's 16-year-old son.

But wait, we know you want more....fun and games with pepper-spray then ensued.

After five attempts to hit the man, the officer eventually used pepper spray, but succeeded only in hitting the man's 21-year-old daughter, an unintended target.

However, the story has a happy ending.

The wanted man eventually gave himself up.

The boy hit with the taser, and the girl hit with the pepper spray were the children of the offender. Perhaps he gave up because he didnt want his family subjected to further 'collateral damage'.

However, call me cynical but I suspect the reason he gave up was less considerate then that. I'm thinking it's just not that easy to resist arrest when you are rolling about the floor pissing yourself with laughter.

Tasers are 'on-trial' in the area where this incident occured. I await the announcement that they are unmitigated success.;)

Tell ya what. Instead of me lightening up, you do the sensible thing and take care not to make statements that look like trolling and realize that because of your history of repeated rule-breaking, I'm not going to give you the benefit of a doubt to the same degree that I would a poster with no history of rules violations.

You may have been joking. I most assuredly am not.

As a New Zealander, I'd have to say he's just jealous that our sheep are prettier than Australias (You really should make it obvious you're Australian when you make NZ jokes, or you're in danger)

Yeah, our cops have really been messing up with the tasers. At the Te Papa Weapons Conference Protest, the cops threatened random passerby's with tasers. It's in the rules that th ey can only draw them when in danger of physical harm

They'll still get to have them for keeps though. It's how the system works.

Personally, If a cop tasered my son and peppersprayed my daugher, hell yes I'd give up, what am I supposed to do? Run away from them when they're obviously in trouble?

I'd give up out of fear that the cop would next get a gun out and shoot my dog.
And then bitch-slap my missus.

Yeah, 'cause that would be tragic, as opposed to tragically funny.;)

I know it's not nice to laugh at unintended injury (well actually only pain since no one was injured or sustained lasting damage beyond the dignity of the officer concerned), but when someone manages to tasor 2 innocent folk including themselves before going on to pepper-spray yet a third innocent person....

I reckon he should have given himself a 'time-out' after he tasored himself. Something tells me this particlar chap needs to head back to 'basic tasor safety' training.

Whoa! Dont suppose you have a link for that?

Yup. The New Zealand Police Force has been on a downhill slide since they took over traffic-duties and had the changes of uniform, got rid of 'beat-cops' and started dressing them up in fetish caps, with faux semi-vinyl looking jackets, and then sent them out cruizing in V8's. Gee, let's dress out police like hoods and send them out cruizing and see if they start calling members of the public 'arsehole' and 'whore' on traffic tickets...
LOL another moment in great NZ ideas, Rutherford would probably eat all our brains on the premise that we dont appear to be making productive use of them.

It was a domestic dispute. I guess the moral of this story is 'dont beat the kids, call in a cop with a tasor to do it for you'... should work out well with the anti-smacking legislation Sue Bradford is trying to push through.

Congratulations. You just managed to troll the NS Mods, in response to being directed to take care to not make statements that look like trolling.

Your prize for this rather ironic accomplishment is a 5-day ban.

Makes me think of the case in America, where the cops shot a suicidal teen and almost his grandmother too.

I agree. And filmed with a good digital camcorder, with a good line of sight on the incident. That would be best, I think. :)

The story by itself is still very interesting though. Maybe it could use a little mud, but outside of that...

For today's antics they encouraged a truck driver to mow over mum & dad protesters unhappy at the local council for closing down a swimming pool.
