It's getting that time of year: the air is getting colder, the sun is out less often, and snow is starting to fall. Personally I love winter, there's so much fun to be had with snow, but what about you?

I absolutely love winter! There's nothing like waking up in the morning being blanketed by snow, and making yourself a nice big mug of hot chocolate, watching the kids play outside...

Sadly, they say this year is going to be a warm one, and I believe them. I think it's in the high 60s right now. *sigh*

I'm currently attending university at some place in central Pennsylvania. It is in a valley so it's just cold (not icy cold, just annoying) and rains all the time.

Winter sucks here.

I love winter, I even like driving in the snow, which makes me very odd. It's fun to be out on the roads when no one else is.

Though it sucks that 99% of people panic and proceed to drive at 5mph when a snow flake hits their windshield.

You can always do something to warm yourself up, cooling down in summer is a lot harder.

Not really. I do well in hot temperatures, and I stay cool by making fun of my boyfriend who can't stand anything over 20C. (Celcius for you Yanks).

I find it harder to warm up than to cool down.

I did well in hot temps until I got myself in the situation of being 10 months pregnant in July in Arizona, during Monsoon with 118F weather plus 70% humidity.......

I have to say although i do love Winter, the Isle of Man is cold all year long:( , to all of you people complaining about winer try living on this rock in the middle of the Irish Sea!!!! WE have storms reaching 50mph gale force winds even in summer, come to think of it Winter is the oly time when we don't have such bad storms  maybe thats why i LUV it!!!

But also christmas always reminds me of christmas Bah! Humbug! christmas is my least favourite time of year, all that eating till your stuffed and followed by Rennie soft chews, waste of paper on cards that the handwriting in the card from your great aunt isnt legible, waste of paper on wrapping paper when we all know the children already know what it is 'cos they saw it earlier in the closet, and then finnally theres all those t.v.adverts that make you feel bad 'cos we're all having such a nice christmas but people in LEDC's aren't!! the Samaritans Operation Christmas Child appeal ive sent 4 boxes!!!!:headbang:

I would love winter if I wasn't in NYC. The day after it snows all of the snow is either water, brown, or yellow. It's amazingly gross. Of out of the city (but still where it snows) it's easily my favorite season.

I love the cold weather, but I loathe the darkness, especially the pitchiness of it here in Scandinavia. Fortunately, we are pretty good at making excuses for lighting things up (my town, for instance, has gotten artists to make lighting exhibits through the entire month of November, and in December we'll have the four advents and Lucia and all that), so it's not too bad.

In fact, it can even be cosy at times.

Snap!

I hate it in that respect, it makes me really, really lethargic, and bored of absolutely everything. Eugh...

I like the snow, and especially going with friends to get a coffee or hot chocolate up in town, but the SAD side of it is not so appealing.

Oklahoma and South Carolina are the coldest places I've ever lived. Other than that I've lived in California, Texas and Florida. Not a big fan of tons of cold weather, though I do like a bit of snow now and then. As a matter of fact, I figure if Mother Nature is going to make me suffer with cold weather, then damnit, I want some snow.
Unfortunately, we don't get much snow here. It just hovers in the 20's and 30's and makes it no fun to go outside.
I don't much like our summers here either, though. We had a record number of days in the triple digits this summer. Oh well, at least I'll always have something to bitch about.

I get pretty depressed quickly and for no 'outside' reason, so it's scary for me, I mean things don't change but all of the sudden I am suicidal....scary.

I love this time of year, especially since I've moved to Reno where we actually get snow -as compared to the Bay Area where the weather barely shifts.

I especially like waking up in the middle of the night to see brightness coming through the window. That's when I know it has snowed. I don't care what time of the night it is. I'll throw on slippers and run out there. The next person to come out the door and see where I went gets beaned with a snowball.

Love or hate it, either way I'm stuck with it because I live in Canada. I do see benefits to the cold, in a way, it makes people just that much more stronger and less of a weakling by adapting to winter conditions. :p

However, I'm not fond of winter. It's too cold. I'm more partial to late spring ;)

I like the cold, I'm fond of snow, and the only thing that bothers me slightly is the darkness -- but I suppose I might as well get used to that, as it isn't going away anytime soon.

It's a pity it's neither cold nor snowing here -- just raining....

I liked winter when I was in Nevada, the snow, the pogonip, the other pretty sights...

Not liking it so much in Nagano. The scenery is breathtaking, but so is waking up with ice about a half an inch thick caked on the INSIDE of the window and having to put your toothpaste in the fridge because that's the only way to keep it from freezing solid. And don't get me started on how much fun it is to plunge your hands into freezing water to do laundry.

You'd think the world's second largest economy would have invented insulation and central heating by now.

I hate the winter. The winds blow with the fury of a thousand jet turbines and if it snows, it just means that people walk on it until it compacts and then turns into a sheet of ice the next day.

Its not smooth ice either, so you cant glide across, its rough, but still slippery enough that you fall on your ass if your not careful.

I live in Southern California so the during winter it doesn't really get cold. Winter was usually gloomy for me because after winter break my dad would eventually find out about my bad grades in school so the whole time during winter vacation I would get a depressed feeling just waiting for the impending time when I would get into a whole lot of trouble.

But I started University and my grades are pretty good so I can enjoy my winter break with no worries.:)

I rather like winter, except for driving in it. I traded my Jeep for a Miata last spring due to fuel economy concerns and I'm a bit concerned as to whether I'll end up in a ditch and freeze to death. Luckily I'll be in France much of the winter so I won't have to worry about it.

I'm actually kinda disturbed by the weather right now. We often have had at least some snow stick by this point, but it's only snowed twice and it hasn't stuck for more than an hour or so.

I also love winter because I love snow (along with things that come along with it: sledding and snowmobiling mainly) and Christmas (family, no school, presents, food, songs). I live in the Willamette Valley in Oregon, but on a large hill/small mountain in the middle of nowhere at about 1400 feet, so we get decent snow. More in some years than others.
