If in sheer brilliance, you are referring to the weaponization of music in order to destroy offending planets, then I agree. :)

No! Shatner is god! <3 Although "Mr. Tambourine man" may not have been his greatest accomplishment.
And "Purple people eater" is brilliant when sung by Judy Garland. :)

Seconded. NOTHING is worse than that damn song! Not only does it make you want to rip your ears off to stop the horrible song, but it then gets lodged into your brain and you're forced to endure hearing those high pitched voices screeching "MiniMoni Terafon a Rin Rin Rin!" over and over and over.

Evil song, it should be banned.

I genuinely cant stand almost any Beastie boys song. the "Fight for your right to Party" has to be one of the songs I detest the most, followed by a song under a different artist "Smoking in the boys room". I just tend to hate songs by 30-40 year olds that sing lyrics that are likely written by 13 year olds.

But yeah "We built this city" really sucked too.

Dude, ANY music set down on paper doesn't make any sense. They're songs, not essays.

Songs are by definition poetry set to music. Certainly, after having been inundated by such trash as the Negro would put out, one could see how one could be deluded into having the opinion you gave. However, the problem isn't music itself. The problem is that negros have no musical talent at writing poetry.

If you further disagree that any music doesn't make sense on paper, feel free to look at the "nominations for best songs" and see the links I gave.

I am pretty sure that Stevie Wonder was the blind singer, and most of the others were probably oldies singers. I am not all too familiar with their music, though. So my question stands. Who?

I like the Platters. But again, they catered to a white audience, and thus were held to a standard. Thus, that's difference.

The majority of negroid "music" enthusiists don't have standards. Have you listened to most rap songs and/or hip hop? Have you watched BET? I'll post some lyrics."Negroid 'music'"?
Gosh, if you can't tell the difference between satire and reality, it must get lonely where you live... To think you could read anything else out of that song.

I am pretty sure that Stevie Wonder was the blind singer, and most of the others were probably oldies singers. I am not all too familiar with their music, though. So my question stands. Who?

I like the Platters. But again, they catered to a white audience, and thus were held to a standard. Thus, that's difference.

OK, into the troll bin with you.

So what would you call The Open Door then?

Ben Moody left, they didnt split up - though they might have well done. He was the main songwriter, now all amy lee can do without him is look up long words in the dictionary and repeat them at random intervals lol while putting weirder and weirder vocal effects on herself

Bad nominations, there's no standard to them at all.
Are covers ok? Are we voting for the worst song or the worst performance of a song?
Some songs are so bad they are obscure and unknown should they count? How can we even vote on them then?

Here's my votes anyway

Group A
Kick ass all night

Group A is a bad group. Most of these songs shouldn't be on this thread.
Kick ass all night can have my vote because I've never heard of it.

Group B
Ice Ice Baby

The only good parts of this track don't belong in this song, they had their own perfectly good song.

Group C
My Humps

I'm not even a hater, but this song is just stupid.

Group D
We Built this City

This is the song that should win it all, bad song, just bad. Even worse if you have to watch the video.

Group E
She bangs

How is this one not getting more votes?? Stop hating mediocre songs to be cool and hate the truly awful.
Snow Eaters
20-11-2006, 00:25
but.......can you explain to me exactly what the point of the song is?

The song is a double entendre.

On the surface, it's about shedding the pressures of urban life and embracing the barren simplicity of the desert, or even the ocean to renew one's spirit.

On another layer, horse is code for heroin and the song is a drug trip much like "Lucy in the sky with Diamonds"
Swilatia

Stop hating mediocre songs to be cool and hate the truly awful.

I agree. after someone linked to "My Pal Foot Foot", I was surprised that such a terrible song was not already nominated.

Had to pick both....two of the gayest songs EVER.

Group E
She bangs (2)

However, none of these (with the possible exception of Achy Breaky Heart) are the worst pop song ever.

Hardly anyone remembers the real candidates.

"My Boy Lillipop"
"Tell Laura I love her".
"Sportin' a Woody".

None of the songs in the poll (with the aforementioned possible exception) are even remotely close to being as bad as the ones I just listed.

Another candidate would be "Last Kiss" by J. Frank Wilson And The Cavaliers.
You folks may remember it becuase Pearl Jam did a cover of it a few years back.

It sucked....but not as bad as the original version.

Ah, okay. Didn't know anyone had covered it, at least covered it and got any airplay with it. That's one song that should never be covered.

No, covers are fine -- for some good songs. The Clash's cover of "I Fought the Law" (originally done by Bobby Fuller) and Nirvana's "The Man Who Sold the World" (originally done by David Bowie) spring to mind. But some good songs just can't be covered, and absolutely not by certain "artists." Seriously, Jessica Simpson should be drawn and quartered for her cover of Berlin's "Take My Breath Away."
