A Little help from Generalites please?

I'm going on a date tonight. With a guy I really like. Anyway, we are going to see Saw III. I get pretty freaked out in scary movies so, on a scale of 1-10, just how bad is this movie? I've seen Saw II, and I didn't find the Grudge or Ring movies scary. At all. So

And how should I act if I get freaked out? I don't want him to think I'm soft.

Haha.

I haven't seen the third one, but if it's anything like the other two it'll be all butterflies, fairies, and all sorts of other sweet stuff, like cinnamon. Mmmcinnamon. Totally. ;)

Oh. If you've seen the second one, than pfft. Who cares?

Ugh. Why don't you tell him that if you wanted to watch people being tortured in horrible ways....you would've joined the US military?

If it's anything like the former installments, it will be psychologically disturbing, but not actively scary. You'll feel anxious/nauseus, but never truly terrified. That being said, fake being scared, guys usually like it (it appeals to their masculinity/protector instincts).

You know what else appeals to guys?

Sex.

You choose the movie, and tell him in return he gets to cop a feel.

Everyone wins.

Ya know, that's not too far from the truth.

He's a very stereotypical Aussie though, I don't think he's aware of world events beyond the cricket pitch.:)

Just bury your face in his shoulder if you get scared and let him comfort you. If he teases you about it later than just claim that it was an act so he'd put his arms around you and then make fun of him for falling for it.

That is very straightforward. Then I could see a nice chick flick, and get some action at the same time ;)

See now, that's my kind of advice! He does have very good shoulders, among other *ahem* assets...

Oh, well, if you're just wanting some action, go to the movie that will have the least number of people in it and make out the entire time.

If you're making out with him throughout the whole thing, it really doesn't matter what you watch 'cause you won't be paying attention.

No. Women don't need men to "protect" them. GreaterPacificNations' statement just put everyone into a stereotypically stupid gender role. Ugh. Hell no, I don't like waving my masculinity around and enjoy showing superiority.

Suit yourself. I enjoy showing my superiority, in general. And waving my masculinity around. You should try it, it's fun!

I happen to agree with you, Kanabia. I find men who do tend to be those who have the least security in their gender roles and sexuality.

Four words, giant tub of popcorn. Great for hand holding tricks, a place to hide your face when it gets scary, and ammunition to throw at your date should she or he deserve it.

I strongly suggest you put out. :p

Hell no, I don't like waving my masculinity around and enjoy showing superiority. You know it is a stereotype for a reason. The majority of guys really are knobs in this regard. Perhaps the only reason it is such is because society (and myself in the current instance) peddles this crap to them, and perhaps it is just how they are. Either way, chances are that the guy Akai Oni is dating tonight is part of this Knob-Majority.

It sucks. The first two was good but now it feels like they're milking the damn thing like a cash cow. Just like they're milking the '42 series. You know? Battlefield 1942 ect. They put spyware in 2142! I had a feeling they would do these things after Battlefield 2. The whole thing felt like a copy of some other modern shooters.
Now back to the date. I wouldn't suggest seeing a horror movie for a date. I always suggested comedy or an action film. Something that both of you can enjoy. Horror movies are more... How do I put this? Paying someone to get you scared. You get the rush but I wouldn't suggest it for a date. Just act natural, it's not even that scary after watching the first two you're probably used to it. Good luck, enjoy and have fun..

Note: LOL, I guess you're probably at the movie right now... Well, hope you've enjoyed it then..
