I'm supposed to wear glasses, but I haven't had any for a while. I had contacts for a bit, which was kinda handy because I only need one. My left eye is perfectly fine, but I'm nearsighted in my right eye. I haven't worn any contacts for a bit because I just haven't gotten around to getting new ones.

However, becuase only one eye needs correction I could legitimately wear a monocle!

I got them in grade 5, and I've been wearing contact lenses and glasses on and off. Right now I'm wearing glasses. They're thin, black-rimmed, I've had these for about over a year now. I think I should get a new pair soon, cuz these are getting outrageously dirty.

Oh well, I guess they make me look smart and hawt. ;)

It's a combination of yes, no and contact lenses. In my left eye my vision is a little better than 20/20, but in my right it's a little worse. As such the State of Ohio requires me to wear glasses when I drive, but I really don't need glasses. Soooooooooooooo...yeah, I rarely wear them because I don't drive, but I have them and contacts.

I have 20/15 vision, so I don't need glasses. But my eye doctor told me that one way to keep my vision is to wear reading glasses anyway (when reading) in order to trick the eyes into thinking they're seeing farther away than they actually are. The muscles that control the lens stay relaxed. The less they have to work, the longer the lens retains its flexibility. Or so I was told.

I'm nearsighted, but my vision is okay. I only need my glasses for driving and for reading things across a room (like in class). My vision's good enough that I'm not required to wear my glasses when I drive, but they just about double the distance that I can read something from, so I usually do so that I can read the signs from farther away.

Delator
15-11-2006, 13:37
I've worn glasses since age 10, and I switched to soft contacts after high school. Contacts are far easier to deal with, IMHO...I don't have to worry about them getting broken, or deal with them in the rain and snow, and they don't fog up when I come inside in the winter. They also don't pinch my nose like my glasses, and I don't have to worry about them when I get too drunk. :D

Although I'm stuck with glasses at the moment...new contacts haven't arrived yet. (Stupid Postal Service) >_<

I pretty much wear my disposable contacts 24/7. They're way past the time when I should replace them.
My sister-in-law got me some glasses this year for my birthday. They're pretty nice. No-line progressive bifocal, ultra-thin polycarbonate, anti-reflective coating. About $700.00 retail. But she works in optics and the mark up is generally about 300%. I know, I used to be an optician.
