Half-assed ASVAB?

The Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery (ASVAB) is a multiple choice test, administered by the United States Military Entrance Processing Command, used to determine qualification for enlistment in the United States armed forces. It is often optionally administered to American high school students when they are in the 11th grade, though anyone eligible to and interested in enlisting can take it. The ASVAB was first instituted in 1976, and it underwent a revision in 2002. In 2004, the test's percentile ranking scoring system was re-normalized, to ensure that a score of 50% really did represent doing better than exactly 50% of test-takers.

I have to take this tomorrow, if I like it or not.
Now see, I couldn't care less about joining the army, and I couldn't care less if I did good on this test. I don't think I should be told to take this in school, when it has nothing to do with school.
Well.. yes.
Should I just guess on everything, and be done with it? Or should I answer the questions with the correct options?

Do it correctly. Even if you don't plan on joining the military, it's a decent test that shows some strength and weaknesses.

Will colleges see it? If so: yes. If no: Lie through your teeth and make shit up. Preferably, choose the least accurate answers.

Jesus, I hated that test. Worthless. Funny, and true, story. When he was explaining the system of scoring after we received them back, he said "Alright, so you will have a number from 1 through 6 here". Well, one of my friends said "What happens if you have a seven?", to which the recruiter replied "Son, no one gets a seven", to which he replied "I did.", to which the recruiter replied, "Then you're going to get a lot of calls next years."
Anywho, it's pointless, I don't think any colleges consider it, and really is a waste of time.

I took it already this year. Wasn't very hard at all ... at least on the stuff I know.
Either way, I got a 92 for my Army whatever score, the minimum to get to be able to join the army is 32 or something. So I beat that by a good 60, for those of you who are inept at math.
Regardless, I am apparently 'Enterprising' and 'Artistic'. I had an absolute zero on the 'Realistic' (working with tools, fixing things, manual labor, etc.) score though. Sounds about right.

do your best, so when you get drafted you are not stuck on your belly clearing IED's with a bayonet

Is true to a point - pretty much the more qualified you are (higher score) the less likely you are to get drafted. They don't want to throw a conscripted guy in as a regular ol' soldier if he can ace the ASVAB. More worthy of an officer or something.

No, that's why he should try and answer the questions badly:p

... You want to get stabbed with a bayonet, don't you?
Why didn't I have to take that test in HS?

I took the test last Spring, and let me tell you that it'll be the easiest test you'll ever take. The only way I could see someone not passing it would be if they're mentally deficient.
Just simply do the test, the consequences from refusing to take the test will be far more troublesome than this simple test. :)

Same here. I've never heard of a school district making the ASVAB of all things, mandatory.

Answer with the correct options...seriously, it's an easy test.
I didn't study for even 30 seconds, and the only section I had issues with was the auto/engine portion of the test. I ended up with a 91 or a 92 AFQT score.
No sense in not trying to line up the easiest job possible for when you get drafted! :p

I took it twice(to get out of class) a few years back and got a 92 the 1st time and a 97 the 2nd time. Its not hard, do the best you can.
