Any men miss womanly woman?

So...let's see here. Pretty much all woman today are crazy feminists who think that woman should have jobs and that their place isn't in the house, and think they can possibly understand things such as politics or sports. Who else thinks this way?

I must admit, I'm totally not feminine in the traditional sense. I don't want to be, and both of my parents would be decidedly disappointed if I were. As well as most of my boyfriends.
TJHairball
12-11-2006, 02:55
IMO, most of the women available around these parts are insufficiently "feminist" for the likes of me, when it comes to that.

I'm decidedly uncomfortable with the notion of a woman deriving the worth of her own person through her relationship with a man. I would prefer to have a partner, someone who can stand on equal footing with me - and someone who could be independent of a man and therefore chooses to be with me not because she feels a need to, but because she wants to.

In fairness, while I follow general enviornmental issues, I'm not greatly familiar enough to talk with seriousness on the topic. I know the general "deforistation = bad" and how the amazon basin is being turned into cattle grazing territory, and the erosion problems it presents, but I'm not big enough on the hard science to talk with any authority on that subject...

There are some egotistical women around who believe that they can boss men around, but they're not the majority.

I certainly HOPE they're not the majority.

If it is absolutely necessary to let HER be the whatever-she-says-goes-no-matter-what, absolute, iron fist ruler of me in order to get a woman, then I will stay single. I want to get married, but I do NOT want (and am absolutely unwilling) to be beaten up on, yelled at, and verbally and emotionally abused.
I do not want a woman who insists on running and controlling everything. Yes she is a human being, and has feelings, needs, and emotions of her own, and I acknowledge and accept that, but I expect the same respect from her. And if THAT (insisting on her respecting me like she wants me to respect her) is wrong, then I don't want to be right.

I agree; if a woman only chooses to be with me because she feels morally, emotionally, financially, or otherwise obligated to do so, I don't like that. I want her to actually WANT me.

I think the only men that miss the kind of women described in the thread's opening post are those that aren't really interested in "letting" women be...women. Mainly because they're just too insecure.

No, we miss womanly women because women are NOT being women.
It has nothing to do with us not LETTING them; it's that they:
A. Don't WANT to be, or
B. Can't AFFORD to be (e.g., they are single and live alone, or married and both spouses have to work to make ends meet)

Yeah, sex is much better with womanly women, Feminist typically arent even interested in sex from what I've experianced. But they also should'nt be creepy butch combat boot wearing (unless its for role play ;) ) non-bathing hicks either. Its just as creepy as a high heel-mascara wearing male.

I agree with you; I don't think feminists are interested in sex, at least not with MEN. I don't like for women to be submissive tools to men either, except of their (the women's) own free will, nor do I like masculine, butch, Janet Reno-like "women".

I, too, long for that great and glorious past, that age when the men were real men and the women were real men, too, and it was better just not to think about how all these real men were still capable of biological reproduction.
Sure, now there's all these plastic and ceramic models, and that's fine, but the BEARDS back then, man, THE BEARDS.
A girl was expected to have grown at least this much (http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/1/10/Wheeler.jpg) by her Sweet 16, or off into the well back behind the house it was. And everybody had a well on their property, too, none of these new fangled water-systems.
Not that anybody actually drank water in those days, they just kept the wells around to dispose of unwanted children in, and nobody made a fuss of it. These days you can't even remove someone's feet for dillydallying without some government busy-body getting all "1st Degree Assault" on you.
Like there should be degrees to assault, all criminals should just be executed, then we wouldn't need any prisons!

Dear god, where was I going with this? I really forget, so I think I should probably stop.

Yea, well, we actually decided to talk it out (since both of us hate yelling) and try to work something out. Trying to tell a woman who has to stay in top physical shape to compete in gymnastic that you are the "man" isn't a wise choice. Especially since she can flex herself into sexually arousing poses.

Wow, compromise, whatever happend to A man is suppose to be the head of the household...at the end of the day, he should make an inform decision that him and his wife/queen can stand behind"

Try to work something out through compromise and the recognition of equality doesn't sound like "the man" making an informed decision. It sounds like...compromise until they both reach an agreement that satisfies both of them.

So when all is said and done, you don't REALLY believe the BS rhetoric you spew forth when it comes to actual practical matters does it?

The vast vast vast majority of people, including feminists, would agree with the equality in respect that you propose as right.
Only a very small minority of people (none of whom could be classed as feminists) would seriously support women abusing men.

No, we miss womanly women because women are NOT being women.
Pray tell, what does it take for women to be "proper" women?

B. Can't AFFORD to be (e.g., they are single and live alone, or married and both spouses have to work to make ends meet)
..are you implying with this that "real women" should not be working?

I agree with you; I don't think feminists are interested in sex, at least not with MEN.
Where exactly would you get that idea?
Someone who hates men, or is a lesbian, sure.
But someone who hates men cannot be a feminist - they cannot believe in (political, legal, social) equality of the sexes. And why would supporting that equality make someone a lesbian?

Feminist typically arent even interested in sex from what I've experianced.
Yeah, I'm sure plenty of feminists have slept with you....
Perhaps they've never shown any interest in sex while in your company because of your attitudes?

There's also the fact that a non-feminist women is more likely to get less out of sex, because they won't have a relationship with the same amount of respect in it and won't have any respect for themselves.
(Just as a note, a feminist would be someone who believes in equality and in not being trapped by genders - they can be stay-at-home mums or whatever, as long as they believe in other peoples rights not to do so and believe in their own right to choose)

I think anyone should be who they wan't to be, and I don't like women being submissive tools to men either. But they also should'nt be creepy butch combat boot wearing (unless its for role play ;) ) non-bathing hicks either. Its just as creepy as a high heel-mascara wearing male.
So people should be whoever they want to be... but they should definitly not be what you find unattractive.... nice contradiction there.

Oh, and implying that all feminists are "creepy, butch, combat boot wearing" is pretty ridiculous.

I think most people would describe me as fairly "feminine" in a lot of ways.
I have long blonde curly hair. I have a curvy figure, and wear fairly feminine clothes or ones that show off my figure most of the time. I take care of my appearance. I like shopping for clothes. I wear makeup. I'm fairly emotional and empathetic. I'm kind and very non-aggressive. Relationships are one of my highest priorities. I'm pretty damn maternal, and adore children etc etc

Yet I'm definitly a feminist, hate gender roles and stereotyping about genders and will voice my views clearly.

Oh, and I also excel at "masculine" subjects like science and maths, I hate gossiping and mind-games, video-games can be damn cool, I love heavy music, I speak my mind, I want to work my way up to PhD level and have a career...

(oh, and I happen to love sex (with a male!) )

I really don't fit into any of the stereotypes you want to create for me, the feminist one, the "real woman" one, a "tomboy" one... and I don't really believe anyone truly fits into a stereotype. People are more complex than that.

:) as I said on msn, I love you for you too :) not for fitting into any ideal of what is a "real man" (though many characteristics of yours may fit into that - and many may also not), but just for being a wonderful person who makes me happy and is so very right for me :)

Is that the only positions allowed?
How boring.... :P

I agree with you; I don't think feminists are interested in sex, at least not with MEN. I don't like for women to be submissive tools to men either, except of their (the women's) own free will, nor do I like masculine, butch, Janet Reno-like "women".Complete idiocy. I'm very much a feminist and LOVE sex. Especially with men.

So...let's see here. Pretty much all woman today are crazy feminists who think that woman should have jobs and that their place isn't in the house, and think they can possibly understand things such as politics or sports. Who else thinks this way?

Notice: This is meant to purely be a satirical jab at the manly men thread, and not representative of my views

I have no truck with feminists. If I have a feministy daughter I will tell her I have no daughter.

Glitziness; I agree with everything you say! You seem like a really cool woman. I wish that I could talk about myself with such conviction.

As for 'womanly woman' (I actually don't see what's so grammatically wrong with that pairing of words; and I do English) well I'm not a man, so I can't possibly 'miss' her. I have nothing against a woman who chooses to appear to be a 'womanly woman'; i.e. a housewife devoted to her husband. That can work perfectly if that's what the woman wants. But, like another poster said, if their life depends on the man and they can't live without being in a relationship, then that's just sad. I actually know a number of women like that. They'll drift into and out of relationships simply because they can't be single; they lack the self-worth without it.

As for me, people possibly perceive me as being 'butch' simply because I haven't been blessed in the looks department. Hate being average looking? Well I'd love to just look kind of 'normal' so that 'manly men' that walk past me don't mutter insults under their breath. Seriously, though people are so judgemental of others' looks. I mean, I can't so much look in the direction of some 'girly' girls or they'll think that I'm eyeing them up. I'm not kidding; so many girls that don't know me think I'm a lesbian that it's not even funny.

What's with the sudden burst of anti-feminist trolls around here? And why are none of them half as creative as our old trolls? You seem to be a sharp fellow, so maybe you can fill me in. :D

Yeah, I'm sure plenty of feminists have slept with you....
Perhaps they've never shown any interest in sex while in your company because of your attitudes?

Bingo.

The guys who claim that feminists aren't interested in sex need to finish the sentence:

"Feminists aren't interested in sex...with me."

Of course, if they did that, then it would be a little too obvious why they're so offended and enraged by feminists. :D

Oh, and implying that all feminists are "creepy, butch, combat boot wearing" is pretty ridiculous.

Well, it's also pretty ridiculous to define masculinity based on how well you abuse that which is feminine. It's ridiculous to define manhood by how well you avoid anything with a taint of "womanliness" on it, and how well you degrade anybody who refuses to participate in your image of gender. Yet that's a popular definition these days.

I really don't fit into any of the stereotypes you want to create for me, the feminist one, the "real woman" one, a "tomboy" one... and I don't really believe anyone truly fits into a stereotype. People are more complex than that.
Why do you think they're so angry, Glitz? Because people are so freaking COMPLICATED!!!

They really, really want to shove everybody into neat little boxes. They define themselves by what they are not (i.e. a real man doesn't cry, a real man doesn't cook or clean, a real man doesn't listen to women, etc), so they have to first define all the little boxes for the Others that they can compare themselves to.

This is why anti-feminists become so angry at people who simply refuse to conform. It upsets the tidy, simplistic world-view that puts hetero men always at the top of the food chain, while "feminine" men and all women get to shut the hell up and like it.

If, heaven forbid, it's possible for WOMEN to have "masculine" qualities, then that might suggest that hetero males don't deserve all the unearned status and power they currently enjoy! Why, if it's possible for women to be intelligent, assertive, independent, strong, and capable, then maybe there's no magic Man Gene which automatically makes males worthy of automatic ruler status! THEN WHO WILL DO THE DISHES FOR US?!?!

Well, she actually does agree with me than sometimes men need to be men instead of well pansy.
Isn't that true of everybody?

I'm also curious about how you imply that "being a man" is different from being a "pansy." Is being a woman synonymous with being a pansy? Are there no male pansies?

Honestly, every time you feel compelled to talk about "being a man" or "being a woman," just remove the gender from the equation and it will clear up things a lot. Talk about "being a human" or "being an adult" instead. It makes far more sense. Whenever I hear some dude talking about "being a man," I half expect him to start peeing on all the trees to mark his territory.

I will admit, there have been times I've longed for the ability to pee like a fountain.

However, if it's the choice between being able to write my name in the snow versus having a clitoris...sorry, but there's just no contest. :D
