I was listening to the Jeff Katz show today on my way home from the airport, and he was having a Veterans Day tribute, and on the show he was having people call in with stories of their favorite veteran, and he also talked about walking up to soldiers in uniform and thanking them. So, I thought in the spirit of Veterans Day, I would like to say Thank you to all the men and women in uniform and those who wore the uniform. Thank you for protecting this country, your family and friends, and thank you for protecting me. Thank you for your sacrifice.
I would also like to tell you guys what veterans have taught me.
My grandpa: That when life knocks you down, you get back up, reload your weapons, and go back in fighting.
My Dad: To always work hard, and to always do what you have to do to support your family, even if your family is just the wife. Also to respect your fellow person, and to treat people the way you would want to be treated. Also, to be a strong person, not just physically strong, but also strong in your belief, in your values, and in your morals.
Coach Cole: Thank you for giving me my love of History, it was because of your great teaching style, and the way you made history interesting that sparked the historian inside me.
Eut: You can never take life seriously all the time.

bow yer heads for Armistice (or Veteran's Day, or Remembrance Day). A moment of silence is in order;
They must be honored.

GOD BLESS AMERICA!
Oh, say can you see by the dawn's early light
What so proudly we hailed at the twilight's last gleaming?
Whose broad stripes and bright stars thru the perilous fight,
O'er the ramparts we watched were so gallantly streaming?
And the rocket's red glare, the bombs bursting in air,
Gave proof thru the night that our flag was still there.
Oh, say does that star-spangled banner yet wave
O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave?
On the shore, dimly seen through the mists of the deep,
Where the foe's haughty host in dread silence reposes,
What is that which the breeze, o'er the towering steep,
As it fitfully blows, half conceals, half discloses?
Now it catches the gleam of the morning's first beam,
In full glory reflected now shines in the stream:
'Tis the star-spangled banner! Oh long may it wave
O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave.
And where is that band who so vauntingly swore
That the havoc of war and the battle's confusion,
A home and a country should leave us no more!
Their blood has washed out of of their foul footsteps' pollution.
No refuge could save the hireling and slave'
From the terror of flight and the gloom of the grave:
And the star-spangled banner in triumph doth wave
O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave.
Oh! thus be it ever, when freemen shall stand
Between their loved home and the war's desolation!
Blest with victory and peace, may the heav'n rescued land
Praise the Power that hath made and preserved us a nation.
Then conquer we must, when our cause it is just,
And this be our motto: "In God is our trust."
And the star-spangled banner in triumph shall wave
O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave.

Me. I just sent out thank you emails to every veteran in my addy book.
For all veterans here, I'll add: thank you all, you few, you happy few, you band of brothers.
In Flanders fields the poppies blow
Between the crosses, row on row,
That mark our place; and in the sky
The larks, still bravely singing, fly
Scarce heard amid the guns below.
We are the Dead. Short days ago
We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow,
Loved, and were loved, and now we lie
In Flanders fields.
Take up our quarrel with the foe:
To you from failing hands we throw
The torch; be yours to hold it high.
If ye break faith with us who die
We shall not sleep, though poppies grow
In Flanders fields.
Peace.
