Rutgers just beat Louisville, the previous number three team in the nation, 28-25, and are now 9 and 0!
Anyway, I wanted to announce this, so I did.
So, for all the NCAA football fans, who should be in the BCS championship game this year? (against Rutgers:D )

One of two teams is going to win the BCS championship this year, and that's either Michigan or Ohio State, and that team will be decided next weekend.

O-H-I-O.
Nuff' said.
By the way, it's going to be Michigan v. OSU in the Champ Game. Rutgers has no shot. This is an idea of what would have to occur (from ESPN.com)
This is what needs to happen -- either all of this, or at least most of it:
Northwestern beats Ohio State; Indiana bests Michigan; South Florida and UConn dispatch Louisville; Florida State makes Florida pay for its recent hard times, with South Carolina and/or Western Carolina doing the same; Kansas State and Texas A&M put away the Longhorns; Georgia and Alabama make short work of Auburn; Oregon and, if it would like to chip in, UCLA wipe out USC; Arizona and Stanford muscle out Cal; Air Force and Army blitzkrieg Notre Dame; Cincinnati and Pitt humble West Virginia; Tennessee and Mississippi State handle Arkansas; and, finally, Alabama and Ole Miss run roughshod over LSU.
This is not a suggestion that anybody should lie down in order to fulfill Rutgers' destiny. On the contrary, it's asking 20 or so schools to rise above what will mostly be underdog berths and clear the decks so Rutgers can be in a position to fulfill its own destiny on January 8th.
Isn't that the least they can do?

IT's a shame it's AMERICAN football and not REAL football though. ;)
I suppose this is a good way for us Central Jersey NSers to know that we have friends in the area.
Anyway, back to your reveling...I really don;t care about this sport...if it can be called that.
Thank you for your useless post. We really like it. The next time I see a Soccer thread, I will be sure to add my insanely juvenile and pointless post as well.

Dang, huge arse win for Rutgers then, and congrats on another full and true well and screwed up BCS season now. =^^= Not truly sure that Rutgers can get to the champ game, but a BCS bid is all but assured for them.
God forbid who the one loss team will be then. Here comes the roaring argument for the bowl season. :headbang:
After beating WVU, I thought Louisville would come in and smash Rutgers.

I know they still have no shot, cause the big east gets no respect anymore. Still, it would be pretty damn cool if they did make it.

It would be cool, but I would hate to see the Buckeyes demolish the State University of NJ (which is what I think they should be called, anyways). :)
Lets go Boilermakers!

Yeah, Orton went there, they were OK then. They were actually a lot better when Drew Brees was their QB (iirc).

*TOOT* *TOOT* BOILER UP!
Orton was OK when he was at Purdue. He was a frontrunner for the Heisman during his senior year until he fumbled late in the 4th quarter in 2 consecutive games against Wisconsin and Michigan. Both fumble cost Purdue the game. We did go to bowls though with him.

Really. My brother goes to Purdue and plays the sax in the marching band. He's not that optimistic about Purdue football either.
Frankly, Brees > Orton > Painter, but Orton's not bad and Painter can't do it all himself.
As for the BCS...OSU will probably win against Michigan...I'll say 28-17, and they should play Rutgers if Rutgers goes unbeaten. Of course, Rutgers will need a bit of help, but who's to say that can't happen?

I must not have been that aware of college football when Brees was at Purdue.
Anyways, with Auburn and Cal, losing, Rutgers HAS to be in the BCS top ten. Speaking of which, Cal lost against Arizona? wtf?

i don't believe that many jocks exist in NSGeneral, but yes, I was talking about football (It was Rutgers biggest football game since the 1800s, when college football officially began with a Rutgers game). Although both of my grandparents did attend Rutgers, and it was almost an Ivy League school.

And I think Michigan WILL beat OSU, but not by "creaming" them. By stopping them. Again. And again. And again.

Nah, they definitely won't. OSU will beat Michigan, but not by creaming them, and we'll see a ramatch in the National Title Game.

Rutgers hasnt played a tough enough schedule to make the final game, unfortunately...... although that top 10 is widdling away.....The winner of the Michigan/Ohio State game will probably play the winner of the SEC at this point...

Seriously I think the championshp will be the OSU-Mich. winner against the USC-N.D. winner. The voters will not want to do a rematch, and everyone loves USC and Notra Dame.
