The Governor of Iowa (http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/15635323/) just declared for the 2008 Democratic nomination.

DES MOINES, Iowa - Democratic Gov. Tom Vilsack of Iowa, seeking an early jump on 2008, launched a long-shot bid for the White House on Thursday.

One of the good things about dictatorships is that you don't need to worry about the overwhelming aspects elections.

It almost makes dictatorships look desirable when things like this happen.

There are times, believe me ...

I like the British system, they expressly limit the time during which campaigns happen to about five weeks, as I recall.

This last month or so has highlighted to me in many ways why we in the UK should be grateful for the relatively good system we have going.

I think I would rather have the rest of this Parliament with Blair than have to suffer all this mid-term nonsense, it has to be said. There is such a thing as too much democracy,

But yeah, there should definitely be a time limit on this stuff. There are seasons for ducks and deer. Why can't we have one for politicians, too?

so far he has about 1% support among dems. No wonder he had to call it so early, he need to scrape up all the support he can get.
