Dems Are The Champions

Okay, so you all know that I'm hardly a spokesman for the Dems. I hate the two-party system. However, I'm still quite happy about the Democratic takeover of the House and probable takeover of the Senate. It means that Bush will be tempered. I've gained a wee bit of respect for Nancy Pelosi: she's already starting to make him her puppet. Not fantastic, to be true, but it's better than what he was doing on his own, at least.

What's that got to do with the title of this thread? Well, as I was driving home tonight, I was listening to my Queen CD, and the song "We are the Champions" came on, and it hit me: I should make a music video with bits and pieces from election night about the Dems with said song. Problem is, I don't have much in the way of actual video from the events, so I'm making this thread to ask people to gather up what they can, if they can. I would do it all myself, but I won't have any real time to put this together till Friday, and as it stands it will take me a long while to string it all together even with the footage. Once it's all put together, I'll either put it up on YouTube and link it here, or put it on something like rapidshare or another free file hosting place for you guys to download. Probably both.

So, yah. What do you guys think? Good idea, or no?

Youtube, google video, and archive.org are your sources, I'd imagine.

I suspected I would be snatching some from those places, yes, but the problem will be getting them off the sites, as I believe that is quite difficult. Unless, of course, there's an easy secret way to do so.

Ask some of the winning campaigns for the footage.

There is, but to say how would be encouraging . . . uh, illegal . . . uh, yeah . . . There's a secret easy way to do it.

Telegram it, please, unless that is also against the rules, of course.

Panty: I intend to.

It is, that is why I deleted the message.

Damn it. Okay, I guess I'll figure it out myself, assuming I can. Thank you in any case, however.

Archive.org is legal downloads and plenty of options for getting the footage off of it.

Oh! Don't rule out taking still images from all the news sites and doing the whole 'Ken Burns' thing with the shifting photos.

Image capture software. Something like Fraps, but for windows rather than games, i'd imagine.

EDIT - try this: http://www.thesilver.net/

I take no responsibility for how you use it. ;)

I have a plugin for firefox 'videdownloader' which rips videos of sites like these. You surely could just pop over the relevant site to download it.

That sounds like a fun idea. I agree that youtube is one of the best available sources. There is a program that dowloads tube' videos onto your computer. If you find that you can better manipulate the video.
