I just want to know where corneliu is. In the run up to this election he's been the most strident voice here advocating for the GOP. There was even a thread where he unequvicaly declared GOP holdings of both houses of congress. Now I'm honestly interested in his position on the events of the previous day.

I'd like to know where he is too! After all, he was the biggest defender of Rumsfeld after Dear Leader right to the point where he declared every retired military and even Colin Powell were talking out of their asses for calling for his resignation or sacking.

I'm ok with the new name, but I'm tired of making new names only to have them deleted (though I'm aware it's my own fault for neglecting them).

It's part of the spiritual unity of the world. Or at least the nation. As the collective unconcious becomes more enlightened, those particularly dark aspects of it get supressed within it. Rather like the ascendence of mega-churches and poverty when conservatives come to power.

Either that or they just got disillusioned with the rest of the country's Repubs.

You should visit the game from time to time. You know, NationStates? The one where you play your little nations, and you have about 12 simple menu options of things to do? Click on the one labelled FAQ.

Having read through this thread in it's entirety and reviewed the histories of certain posters, I am now prepared to make a ruling upon it.

Firstly; Everyone needs to remember to debate sensibly and calmly. Ad hominem attacks, of which there have been entirely too many in this thread, are not good debate.

If you find yourself writing insults directed at other players, you should step away from your computers before you post something you may regret later.

Secondly; The Nazz is forumbanned for two weeks. You've claimed to teach rhetoric, but unfortunately I can see no evidence of it - only flaming unbecoming a NationStates poster, much less someone in the education sector.

Thirdly; Eutrusca is deleted. Right from the get-go your posts in this thread have qualified as baiting, descending at times to outright flaming, and you have shown many times that you are not interested in the points raised by other posters.

Looking over your history, I find a long string of similar offences. There comes a point when this sort of thing has to stop. You need to develop your debating skills beyond these sort of barking-dog attacks. I am confident that you are intelligent enough to do so; please prove me right.

And again, a notice for everyone; there are many people, in this thread or elsewhere, who quite publicly dislike Eutrusca. Singing "Ding dong, the witch is dead", or gloating in any other shape or form is forbidden, and will invite due punishment. So please don't do it.

Yep. Request it as per the instructions on the FAQ:
My nation has vanished!

First, make sure it really has vanished. When you search for or try to login a nation, you must enter its name (e.g. "Mynation"), not its full title (e.g. The Republic of Mynation).

If it's really gone, there are two possible reasons why. If you haven't logged it in for 28 days, it will have been automatically purged. Otherwise, a moderator may have removed it for breaching the site's rules.

You can submit a request for the moderators to restore your nation. (http://www.nationstates.net/page=help) You do not need to supply your password -- the name of the nation alone is sufficient. You will need that password to log in once the nation has been restored, though.

The only problem I ever had with Eut was his readily apparent Heinlein-esque lockjaw on the idea that one who serves in the military is somehow a better citizen than those don't

IMHO, the Vietnam war set quite a few soldiers up for a life of misery. War does that to people and for Eut to push others to suit up and show up kinda baffled me.

Soldiers are not the only true Americans, and yes I think you are right, in that, he seemed to think that only soldiers could be truly patriotic. Or better citizen as you put it.
