This show is just airing now in the UK. Loved the Colbert's comparison of Republican - Democrat to Jesus - Osama!

Yeah, I watched that last night when it was live. Awesome. I liked it when Colbert quit. Hilarious.

"Well, that's nice Stephen, but what will you do if the democrats win?"

"Oh I've already prepared for a situation like that. Look at this cake."

*Holds up cake that says Congratulations Terrorists*

I loved it!

I tried to stay up to watch, but I fell asleep. :( Maybe I'll try youtube.

Jon Stewart is a liberal with a sense of humor who plays a liberal with a sense of humor.

Stephen Colbert is a liberal with a sense of humor who plays a liberal's worst fear of a conservative who thinks he has a sense of humor but doesn't.

How has this one-joke dog-and-pony show lasted a year? Colbert was sorta funny for maybe ten minutes. Move on, Stephen. We GOT IT already. Now find another schtick.

I like Stephen, I just love how he portrays the Neo-Cons pundits.

Aw, don't be a stick-in-the-mud. Colbert and Stewart are some of the funniest things on TV right now, and about the only trenchant political and social commentary we have left.

As for the episode itself, I loved how Stewart characterized the Democratic victory: like slowly backing out of the room while your brother gets yelled at for burning down the garage. :p

Yeah. That describes it perfectly. And it was funny as hell.

That was a great show though I prefered Stewarts series at Ohio State. Poking fun at politicians and Ohioans. Great stuff! :D

Why are you all reporting in front of an Applebees?

Half right. Stewart is still incredibly funny after ten years. Colbert was funny as a bit player on the Daily Show, but his character on Colbert Report is about as funny as Adam Sandler's Opera Man. It's been done to death.

It's the same joke, night after night. The only thing that's still funny on his show is The Word ... and it's the text comments getting the laugh, not his straight-man comments.

I much prefer Stewart over Colbert, but I appreciate Colbert's satire, an art too often forgotten anymore.

Er, wait, this is about Stephen Colbert's show, not Jon Stewart. Jon Stewart filmed at OSU, Colbert stayed in NYC.

The OP mentioned a Colbert bit as his favorite but the Midterm MIdtacular was both of them.

Actually that was what they called Stewarts series at OSU. Didn't they call last nights joint show something else?

Yeah, I believe so, I don't recall the name, though.

Midterm Midtacular was what they called last night's show.

Stewart's week at OSU was the Midwest Midterm Midtacular

say that 5 time fast

I always prefered the Red Leather, Yellow Leather tongue twister. ;)

Yup, that's it. Stewarts show was funnier though. Certainly from the student response there it would seem to confirm this.

It was definitely the Midterm Midtacular, they showed it on a cable channel called E4.
