Music to let off steam

I'm not in the best of moods right now, and because of that, my neighbors can enjoy a free Manowar "concert". http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y223/GermanNightmare/Furious.gif

I was wondering what you guys listen to to vent your anger.

For me, it's Hand Of Doom (http://www.darklyrics.com/lyrics/manowar/warriorsoftheworld.html#9), House Of Death (http://www.darklyrics.com/lyrics/manowar/warriorsoftheworld.html#10), and Fight Until We Die (http://www.darklyrics.com/lyrics/manowar/warriorsoftheworld.html#11) on continuous repeat.

So, what's it for you?

Screamy white girl music, usually Alanis Morrisette (if it's a boy problem)

Nirvana or Blind Guardian for everything else.

I'm a little older-school. Who want's to live Forever by Queen, Young Americans by Bowie, the two parts of Domino by Genesis - anything I can just lose myself in the music and forget my bad mood, that works for me.

A mixture of really crappy angsty music (which shall not be named...) and some good ol' metal :) stuff like Dream Theater, Testament, Blind Guardian, In Flames, Megadeth, some NIN and Pitchshifter too... The good side to bad moods is bringing back to life my love for so many bands :p

Hehe...you listen to Manowar to let off steam? How strange. When I hear Manowar, I suddenly feel the need to lash out at something. ;) :p

I guess lately i've been going for the heavier work of Electric Wizard and other doom metal. And Emperor for something different. A little bit of Eyehategod and Grief.

Most of my music isn't really "angry", though.

I sure hope that my bad mood will pass shortly. Otherwise, I might just turn into a slavering berserker if anyone should cross me.

I'm so pissed off right now, I could scream at the top of my lungs. *growls*
Thank you, it's good to hear from you. I'm on meds for about a week now, and boy, the sideeffects suck big time. And I'm going into another round of therapy - this time not against phobias, I'm "cured" of those. Now it's more about self-esteem, work-effort, and stabilizing my life which took on something like a downward drift in the last 2 months. I'd love to hear from you, so if you find the time, send me a TG, and we'll continue from there. *hugs* mmh.

Yup. When they go on a rage with their music, I don't have to. Plus, it sort of "overloads" my brain with their rage, exhausts me, and calms me down.
That, or I'll get a throbbing headache. Either way, my problem becomes less acute.

I love to listen to classical music when I'm in a melancholic mood. Which I'm not. I'm at 140% on the rage-meter.

Happy music's no good, it just gos against what you're feeling and makes you feel worse. I need to have music that overwhelms the senses and DEMANDS to be the centre of attention. Some classical music can do it - like "None shall sleep" or "Bolero".

The Shape of Punk to Come is an album I listen to if I'm feeling a bit pissed off.

Pure Reason Revolution's album is another one...there's a track on there (not sure which it is now) which suddenly moves from some pretty cool prog to full out metal riffage (yes, I did just say 'riffage') about halfway through. That'd cheer me up any time.

Then there's always 65daysofstatic - The Fall of Math always puts me in a better mood.

Whatever Lyrics

And I wonder
Day to day
I don't like you
anyway.

I don't need your
shit today,
you're pathetic
in your own way.

I feel for you...
Better fuckin go away
I will behave...
better fuckin go away!

I'm doing the best I ever did
I'm doing the best that I can
I'm doing the best I ever did...

I don't need to
fantasize.
You are my pet
all the time.

I don't mind if
you go blind.
You get what you get
until you're through with mine

I feel for you...
Better fuckin go away
I will behave...
You better go away!

I feel for you...
Better fuckin go away
I will behave...
You better go away!

I'm doing the best I ever did
I'm doing the best that I can
I'm doing the best I ever did
Now go away!
[repeat 2 times]

I'm doing the best I ever did
[go away].
I'm doing the best that I can...
[go away]
[repeat 2 times]

I'm doing the best I ever did
I'm doing the best that I can
I'm doing the best I ever did
Now go away!
[repeat 3 times]

Yeah [left speaker then right]4X

I'm doing the best I ever did

Based on what I saw at Download, I don't think Tool are a festival band. Put them in front of their own audience, and they'll be awesome (I hope), but when half the people are really there to see Metallica...

I wouldn't have thought so either. I think they had a "no festivals" rule up until recently...but then, they are headlining, so maybe it'll be alright. There's a few other acts I want to see anyway.

And I found out a couple of weeks ago that Isis are supporting Tool on the American leg of their current tour

Awww, damn! Isis are brilliant....i'd love to see them live.

(And when Tool toured here last several years ago, but I couldn't go because of age restrictions , the Melvins supported them. Now that would have been an awesome show. Well...it was, according to friends that went. Bah! Tool seem to have this thing with picking awesome support acts though.)

Well. The sun has risen, so that means bedtime, I guess. :p

I can't even use the full potential of my stereo. The bass is turned down all the way and I can't really turn it up higher than 5 or 6 (of 20) if I want to stay in the room. Guess that's what you get for living in a ferroconcrete apartment building with all those friendly neighbors.

(hehe, I love how that list contrasts with this post:

:-D)

:flufffle:
I hope your bad mood passes, and if you want to rant, feel free *hugs* :-)
your TG was lovely by the way and meant a lot to me, but I've been so busy and left it so long I feel a reply would be kinda pointless :-/ would love to start up again, now I'm handling various things in my life a bit better, heh *more hugs*
You're not fooling anyone! You're always such a sweetheart.
That's what I don't get either. I usually like melancholy when i'm in a bad mood.

...although that doesn't really help me forget the bad mood, does it? Eh. Happy music would be even worse than silence.
Ugh. I usually can't stand to listen to happy music.
Lend you some melancholy, or lend you some music? o.O
Normally I'd be a smartass and ask for melancholy, but I think I'm good right now.:p
when i'm angry most of the time i listen to some noise, it doesn't really improve my mood, but when i'm angry it's often because my sister was singing musical or R&B songs. i don't know why but that can really drive me crazy :headbanging:
You had to remind me of the primary motivation for hating my sisters, didn't you?:(
Happy music's no good, it just gos against what you're feeling and makes you feel worse. I need to have music that overwhelms the senses and DEMANDS to be the centre of attention. Some classical music can do it - like "None shall sleep" or "Bolero".
*notes*
What exactly are you trying to achieve with that? That's horrible! Glad I don't have a razor at hand. Never ever do that again.:mAd::Bad: (:P)

Whatever boats your float, I guess. Not exactly my choice of music, but hey. ;)

I find Beethoven has some good stuff for anger:

Beethoven's 9th, first movement
Moonlight sonata, third movement
Tempest sonata, first movement

Slayer: Reign in Blood

I had to use it the other day to burn off some hostility after I got cut off by drunken idiots twice in a row.

Most of the time, I'm just angry at the world, so I listen to some Rage Against the Machine, Queenryche and Iron Maiden. Maybe some Anthrax too.

Sometimes I select specific songs for specific issues. Whenever I'm feeling blue and frustrated romantically, I usually go for Burnin' For You by Blue Oyster Cult or Poison by Alice Cooper.
