BOOM BOOM BOOM! ALL OVER THE ROOM! The gloating thread.

We're not allowed to flame or flamebait here, but I thought the least we could have is a celebration thread for all of us who have recognized the stunning incompetence of this administration and the Republican Congress that allowed them to display that incompetence so readily in the name of party unity. Didn't feel it was appropriate in the other thread so I made a new one.

I feel good!

I knew that I would, now!

I feel nice!

Sugar and spice!

Not only did we win both houses (recounts neer change the outcome), but even Democratic polsters didn't predict this kind of carnage! This was nothing less than a tsunami of repudiation of the Bush administration and it's stupidity and arrogance. This wasn't about party politics, it wasn't about pet issues, it wasn't about issues with no substance like flag burning, this was, "Hey Bush, Cheney and Rumsfeld! Your arrogance and incompetence will not be tolerated for one more day!"

I never use stupid animated smilies but it felt right somehow. :)

First, this is just average carnage. At the six year point, a President's party loses 29 seats in the House on average. Don't remember the Senate, but it looks like mostly Conservative Democrats are being elected.

Second, do you really expect a guy like Rumsfeld to go out in such a way that he would be regarded as a failure? No ... way. He's going to hang on until he's either vindicated or the end of the current Administration.

I'd say enjoy your victory, but unless you're an editor or own a couple media outlets, it isn't really your victory.

Yes it is. The Dems won a huge majority in teh House and will control the Senate as well. As for conservative Democrats, that's fine because I'm largely a conservative. I just want checks on this admin's power because they're so stupid. And Rumsfeld? If the majority had been slim, maybe. If Bush doesn't dump him, though, or he doesn't step down the House is going to pull a dump truck up on teh Whitehouse lawn and start shoveling subpeonas in through the front door. He's toast. Thank God because he's destroying our country.

A huge and heartfelt CONGRATULATIONS to the winning party!

The people have spoken, and unlike those wacky leftists who complain about losing when they lose, this far FAR rightist has heard the decision of the people and applauds it with gusto.

Now we get to watch both parties move further to the right.

It really is too bad I couldn't have voted FOR Harold Ford, whom I like immensely,.. but the fact that he was associated with (gasp) Democrats, and that I'm not a voter in his state, precluded my vote for him.

May the Republicans get their heads on straight and stick to their REAL principles.

May the Democrats get their heads on straight and learn to GET some principles.

May the people of America win, as they always do, through this lovely process we call "politics".

Once again,.. Congratulations to the marvelous winners! :)

The most gracious measure of a person is how he or she concedes defeat. But to label it a trait only of the "wacky leftists"? tell that to Allen and Burns, I'm still waiting for their concession speechs.

What's that? Wanting a recount is ok when a republican wants it?

He was referring to himself. I think he knows there's gonna be a massive wave of hypocrisy and wants to show that he is above it. That's cool with me. :)

I know, and he's good of him to do it. I am merely pointing out that to label it a trait of liberals only is...incorrect, to say the least.

surely a tsunami of repudiation, but i don't think it will bring any change, a party for nothing.
