Which NSer with political views opposed to yours do you respect the most?

I'm sure this has been done before, but meh.
For me it's Soheran. Intelligent, rational, level-headed, uses facts and reasons and not a firebrand temper to get his point across, sticks to his principles, and is respectful of other NSers no matter how farfetched their views may be or how wayward their conduct is.
Which opposing views NSer do you think the most highly of?
I like Soheran too, actually. I think he's a pretty swell and intelligent person.

Soheran...I've had some absolutely thought-provoking discussions, and I do believe that he has changed my views on some issues.
I respect most of my opponents; because I've named most of the rest of them in prior threads, I'll name one who's recently been a very frustrating opponent, and in a way that is to his credit: Vittos the City Sacker.

As far as politics rather than economics is concerned though, that's a little bit more difficult...hmmm...weird for me to say this, but it might actually be Deep Kimchi. Sometimes (few and far between) he said very insightful things. really practical things. I think that's when his real personality shone through, rather than this trollish thing he created on the web.

bottle
These are my top two for those I respect with differing views to mine that I have recently noticed from reading threads. Though as I don't post much, always arrive too late to threads to get involved in the good arguments/debates.
bottle is my top one currently as I find some of her views the most infuriating while her arguments for her views are sound.
Which opposing views NSer do you think the most highly of?
You, actually. While i'm sure we would disagree on many things, I consider your views to be reasonable and certainly not worthy of emnity. Your posts never make me roll my eyes (which is certainly a good sign :p), and you demonstrate an actual understanding of ideologies that are different from your own (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showthread.php?p=11838490#post11838490), rather than simply resorting to preconceived and cliched notions - a sure sign of an intelligent mind. Plus, you generally seem like a pretty nice guy. :)
Others worthy of note (not counting lefties who I share basic ideals with, but differ on the means of execution and possibly end-goals) are Daistallia 2104, Bottle, Vittos Ordination (or whatever moniker he's going by now), Neu Leonstein and The Nazz. I'm sure there are others, though.

Hm. I like Vittos the City Sacker and Dissonant Cognition, but I'm not certain how opposed to me their views are...I'm thinking the reason I like them is because their views aren't too too opposed. So, instead, I will say it alternates between Vetalia, Neu Leonstein, and Llewdor.
There are other righties, such as Congo-Kinshasa and Europa Maxima, but I don't find myself debating with them too often, though they also show promise.

Different cultures, different nations, different backgrounds, upbringings, etc etc. Once all of that is taken into account, who has time to worry about respect?
I'm more concerned about whether someone actually *believes* what they say rather than what they're saying. Someone once told me that wisdom is not in the answer, but the question.

The co-runners up would be Soheran and Jello Biafra. They are a like a two headed monster of infinite replies, with all of the replies being coherent and reasonable (even if they are also incorrect).
AnarchyeL would be my number one choice, as when I repeated pull posts and ideas straight out of my ass, he will reply with a disciplined, supported, and articulate answer. Plus he is a show off, and I am often impressed by intellectual show offs.
Honorable mention would be Dissonant Cognition. While we share a very similar set of values and would occupy a nearly identical spot on some political scales, we can come to rather opposing positions on some issues, and since he is one of the best posters on here, he gets a nomination.
I give Free Soviets a lot of respect as well, as he was pretty good before he gave up on the whole thing.

anyone who's able to let political differences (especially party politics) lie in normal discussions. can't think of anyone i've personally been desperately at odds with politically but i know i have very different economic opinions to smunkee and of course she is cool. and cluich is pretty funny when he's not fighting for eutrusca.
I really though Soheran was a woman. That's weird.
Soheran's my choice, as well. He doesn't denigrate me, even though we have fundamentally different views of the world.
A couple of months ago I would have chosen Sinehue.

Soheran for the most part -- about the only person who doesn't resort to ad-hominem attacks simply because you disagree with him (if he is indeed a he. <.<). Jello Biafra, although I only debate occasionally with him. The aforementioned are the only leftists here I garner much respect for. Dissonant Cognition although our views largely coincide on certain issues.
I can't say BAAWAKnights, Leonstein or Vittos because our views are near-identical.

For opposites, I'd have to say Deep Kimchi is one of the very few I actually respect.

Deep Kinchi is actually a very good choice. I approve him as my own respected opposite as well.

I just don't know anymore. At one time I might have said DK, but he finally went off in directions I just couldn't bring myself to respect any longer.

Heh, you haven't seen smart anarchists burned out on internet arguments 'til you've seen "The Anarchist Collective" Myspace group. They've got the jaded, surly, potshot-taking down cold over there.

I thought you're still an anarchist too.

how opposed do we need to get?
Up to you, but ideally someone who is the total or near total opposite of you in at least one area (whether it's social issues, economics, etc.).

Wow...thanks a lot. I feel the same about you. :)
If ever we meet for real, it will be my honor to buy you a beer. Or two. Or three. :p

There are other righties, such as Congo-Kinshasa and Europa Maxima, but I don't find myself debating with them too often, though they also show promise.
*beams proudly* :D
sometimes (most times) the one speck of common ground I could find with people is 'I like sex' LOL, it was a good fall back if people really were at that point where they hated eachother so much they couldn't communicate at all.
*taking notes*
When in doubt, talk about sex. Gotcha.

No, not "everybody."
People who count me as a friend have always been low in number, an exclusive, marginalized group looked upon by everyone else as abnormal.
Except here. I'm honestly mystified.
(And it's a "he.")
We've never talked - outside NS, I mean - but I consider you a friend.

Up to you, but ideally someone who is the total or near total opposite of you in at least one area (whether it's social issues, economics, etc.).
the problem is, is that the farther we get towards total opposites, the more likely it is that the person in question has openly called for genocide or torture or a general abandonment of reason.
i think this is probably why there is so much fighting between libertarians and free marketeers on the internet - at least we have a modicum of common ground to fight over.

I don't know of anyone here who has political views opposite mine... (What's opposite the center? The edge?) Even the people on my ignore list occasionally say things I agree with. :) But I try to respect everyone here equally.

i am. i just don't argue on here nearly as much (or as well) as i used to. i find it hard to remain interested in even my favorite topics when they come up these days. though we haven't had a good evolution fight in a while...
