So who thinks Kinky Friedman will win?

I think he will win, but the election will probably be fixed and the Republican ends up winning...*Sigh*

I hope he wins, if nothing else but for comedic value that his name will bring!

Are you kidding me? He has a snowball's chance in hell of winning, and he knows it.
I think it's sad that he's taking votes away from Chris Bell. It seems that Perry's pretty much a lock-in now.

Perry will win. All Kinky can hope for is second.

Chris Bell is a boring, get nothing done politician. What someone with his lack of charisma thinks he's doing in a gubernatorial election is beyond me.

And Perry isn't? :p
I still say that Bell's better than the idiot who's currently "running" the state. At least he has ideas that look good on paper. Perry doesn't even have that.

Perry actually has a bit of charm and at least looks like a politician.

The current government is disgusting, but at least Perry’s leadership will be crippled by failing to garner a majority of votes. If Dewhurst wasn’t such a douche as well, that alone would be a victory. As it stands, though, we’re just as fucked as we were before.

1: Yeah, but all of that charm goes down the shitter when you hear him speak about his views, and that the government should instill "religious values" in its citizens...
2: Yeah, we're most likely going to go nowhere with this election.

Most Texans eat it up. We’re the minority. Haven't you accepted yet that our opinions don’t matter in a democracy?
2: Yeah, we're most likely going to go nowhere with this election.
Yep.

Oh, I accepted that fact a long time ago.

It would be pretty awesome if he did. I might even move to Texas someday, with Kinky as the governor.

Kinky wont win. He'll capture the college vote, but the majority of voters will stay to the 2 party system. He's just too far out there for most.

Odd names will win. There is somebody in my district named Treewolf West. I don't know who he is or what he does but he will be voted for. I can't bring myself from not. I do know he is a democrat and when he ran the last time he was going by either Mike or Matt West. He made the perfect move. I bet this will catch on in politics.

Kinky represents everything that is good about Texas. Shame on you for claiming he shouldn't run. I've never, ever had someone to vote for before, only against. The only sad part is no, I don't think he'll win. :(
I think Kinky actually has at victory in this one. People are getting fed up with the Conservatives, even in Texas, and Kinky has much better name recognition than Chris Bell.

Good and Texas do not belong in the same sentence except when there is a "not" or similar word between them.

He may win, unfortunately it won't mean much in the long run. He would need the support of the legislative branch, and well, I don't know of a sudden gigantic group of independent candidates taking over Austin....

Which is exactly why Kinky represents it!

he might come vaguely close then the next party in power will make a law saying that candidates can only use their real names.

Who the bloody hell is Carole Strayhorn and how is she ahead of Kinky...if anyone is sucking votes, its her.
