The difference is Joseph Smith has been all but disproven.

How? By whom? When?

The Holy Qur'an is the word of God. If I do not do what God as commanded of me, I am not worshipping as I should since I would be defying him. Do you see now?

because of the type of man the Prophet Muhammed(pbuh) was and the way the Qur'an was protected and created. An example of this is that it was written in a language still spoken today, Arabic. This is unlike the bible which means less of a chance things would be lost in translation.
You believe the Holy Qur'an is the word of God.

Fixed for accuracy. Also, your knowledge of the type of man your prophet was is based on reports, not first-hand knowledge, so even if your holy text are accurate to the original, your impression of the man may not be.

I just want to keep things clear.

No, I do not see, not at all.
You said that you had researched this.
But you are telling me nothing, nothing of what YOU believe, nothing of what YOU discovered in your research that led you to commit to Islam.

Also, you use the word "worshipping" in a manner foreign to me. I can see how you would view your prayer and diet etc. actions as obedience, but not worship.

What type of man do you see in Muhammed? I've never seen in anything in him that would lead me to this conclusion. Other non-Christian leaders do inspire me, such as Ghandi or Guru Nanak Sahib for example, but not Muhammed.

The Book of Mormon was written in English, also still spoken today. I don't see that as any kind of a reason to accept either book as purity. Your point might mean that one should take care to preserve the message of the original languages of a text, but simply being written in a language not spoken today is not relevant to the holiness of the text.

Disproven how?
He existed, he brought the Book of Mormon. He's more real and known than Muhammed.
Not that any of that makes Joseph Smith the prophet to follow either.
