The Beloved leader of Democratic Socialist Party and Ex Prime Minister, Bülent Ecevit has passed away yesterday night. He had his nickname Blackboy after a Turkish comic hero. One of the most important characters in Turkish political history his name was written over the mountains at 70's left actions. He was imprisoned at the military coup (cold war era) but never abandoned his struggle for more freedom. Known as peoples man and a peace loving poet. He was also remembered by his cascet hat, blue shirt and his partys symbol, dove.
He knew English, Sanskrit, Bengal languages, had studied in Turkiye, England and Usa. He had been editor and chief editor in a number of newspapers and magazines.

81 years old having seen the world change so much, he had protected his country's interests on all accounts. The Peace operation at Cryprus at '74 to save Turkish people from Greek slaughter and the operation by Turkish Commandos capturing Terrorist Leader Abdullah Öcalan and reducing PKK terror to practicaly zero, were two of his most remembered success. He also didn't cared about USA's threats to bomb Turkish mosques if Turkiye started opium plantation. Thanks to him Turkish drug industry is capable of producing nearly all necessary drugs and alternatives of very expensive medicine for poor people.
His last term at 1999 was marked by earthquakes and economic crissis but still he was loved by people and called a perfect yurttaş citizen.

I'm sorry for your country's loss. It's a sad thing when a great leader from the past passes away, one can't help but remind oneself of their uninspiring replacements.

Thank you, I have prayed that his soul may rest in peace. I wouldn't have cared for rest of leaders in my country but this man in particular was another case. His enemies even managed to search his bank accounts or secrets etc. and they found out he was just an ordinary citizen in his private life. Unlike many other leaders with big bank accounts of billion dollars at Switzerland. I see it not as a loss for my country but as a loss of humanity.
