I just had two guys who are going door to door come to my house and encourage me to vote. This is the first time that's ever happened.

Now if only I had a strong democratic candidate to vote for.

/sigh

EDIT: err, should be win. I got drunk last night, be nice to my poor spelling.

I don't think I really want them to win. I know, it sounds absurd, but I have a bad feeling. And usually those are right.:(

I hope they at least win senate, unlike other people, I love gridlock. It means neither party can fuck the US into their own little biased version of paradise.

You know whether we vote for democrat or republican the US is doomed, the only thing I think can save us now is a new kind of party that can solve all the US's problems. :(

Yeah, my Democratic candidate is anti-gay marriage, anti-abortion, pro-Iraq, and anti-immigration. Welcome to Indiana.

I wonder if the Republicans hold on to the house and senate, how many Democrats would yell "vote fraud" or "It's the machines, the machines!"

but on the same side if the Democrats win both house and senate, I wonder how many Republicans will be screaming "Dead people and pets vote!"

God I'm glad I am a Libertarian.

So what makes him Democrat? He has Dixie Chicks on his Ipod or something?

God I'm glad I am a Libertarian.Why? You enjoy being unrepresented? :D

All kidding aside, though, I am thinking of voting for a Reform party candidate. Geez, never saw that one coming. Especially after seeing the Reform party riot of 2000...

Ah, yes, I see we agree.

Some of the highest quality governance our country has had was during the latter half of the nineties, when a D had the presidency, and the R's had the Congress. Spawns accountability for both parties.

You do realise that Guy Fawkes and his fellow conspirators failed, right?

So what if Congress gets gridlocked, you probably won't need laws over the next two years. All the important things are already illegal.

It puts a serious damper on pork, when the Prez and Congress can't agree on anything.

IF the Dems can pull it off. That's a big IF. There was a lot of optimism last year, and the GOP wiped the floor with the Dems. To the tune of 286 electoral votes, 55 senators, and 232 (I think) House members.

This year won't be any different. We're just as jaded and just as fearful. I don't know how many governorships will go to the Dems, and frankly it's inconsequential. The GOP will likely expand their lead in the House, and I predict they will get 56 Senate seats, inching ever closer to the 60 votes needed to override a filibuster.

There are very few things you can count on. You can count on the sun to rise in the East. You can count on Fred Phelps being a fuckhead. You can count on paying taxes. And you can count on the Democrats always finding a way to lose elections.

The way the polls are running, that's what one would expect, isn't it?
