Prepare to be Jealous!

I have tickets to see Simone Boccanegra on Saturday.
That's a Verdi opera, by the way.
For those not in the know, this is an opera that is *rarely* produced. The story is very complex, it calls for an almost all male/baritone cast, and is seen as "too high brow" for the average American audience.
So it never happens.
Not even in New York!
We're talking a rare gem of an opera that people who have been Opera buffs for decades have only seen it once if at all. I will see it tomorrow night and I am sooooo excited.
This thing's more rare than Haley's Comet. ;) (Opera buffs will know)
Just bragging. Ok I'm done now. :D

You bastard! I'm usually not one for Verdi (I prefer the Germans), but if I had feelings. I'd be jealous.

Cool, enjoy it. (I know nothing about opera but you seem to be quite excited about this, so I hope it at least meets your expectations). :)

i can raise my eyebrows very high and i don't like opera. does that mean i'm more high brow than opera. i wonder what i should watch? actually, i don't mind when there's a bit of mild opera on classic fm or radio 3 but i wouln't search it out.
anyway, enjoy yourself :). if you like opera this sounds like an absolute treat! :)

Well, good for you.
You know, if you want, you could come to Carnegie Hall to see my choir perform in May. You know, normally I'd be excited about the experience, but it's not exactly anything new.

If I had the patience for Opera, I'd be jealous.
My father informs me that he's very jealous.

o.O
Whatever.
Anyway, I'm not jealous because I'm not into opera, but it sure sounds like I would be if I were.
So yay for you, Keruvalia! I hope your night rocks. :) (well, okay, maybe not "rocks" :p)

I love Verdi, but I'm not familiar with that one. I'm not sure I have the patience to sit through an opera. I like to be doing something while I listen to music. I used to like going to the ballet, but haven't been to one in years. The last concert I went to I about figeted myself to death. Just no good a sitting still that long.
