I've got a veritable stable of 'em:

* Penny Arcade (http://www.penny-arcade.com/comic): The undisputed master of video game humor.

* Sinfest (http://www.sinfest.net/): at turns funny, crude, touching, and brilliant

* Perry Bible Fellowship (http://www.pbfcomics.com/?cid=PBF105AD-Durab_Inc.gif#174): for the dark humor lovers in all of us...

* Dinosaur Comics (http://www.qwantz.com/): a kooky, copy-paste masterpiece

* Animals Have Problems Too (http://www.animalshaveproblemstoo.com/view.php?id=341): sometimes simple is best.

www.overcompensating.com
www.dieselsweeties.com
www.scarygoround.com
- These are the three that I read daily, which I really enjoy, especially John Allison's Scarygoround, which I've got quite into recently (I met him last weekend at the Lancaster Comics Convention).

Others that I used to read but don't keep up with any more:
www.goats.com - it became to much of a hastle to keep up with all the story arcs.
www.pvponline.com
www.okaypants.com - not sure whether it still runs.

And whoever said Homestar Runner, although it doesn't really fit the category, it is ultimate awesome.

Why in the hell isn't CAD and VGCats being mentioned more...

And, above all else. 8-Bit theater is amazingly amazing, and awesomely awesome.

Well, I did mention (show) CAD and 8-bit. VG cats i stopped reading, cuz it was too mention effort for too little payout...It remains funny of course, in that little film-loop in my head.

Sluggy Freelance (www.sluggy.com) is normally pretty good, though the current story arc isn't really doing anything for me, and you have to read the whole thing from the beginning for any of the stuff from the last year or so to make any sense at all.

I don't read a lot of webcomics. Those I do I would split into two groups:

those that I read because they are actually funny/good:
Penny Arcade
VG Cats

those I read out of a habit:
Ctrl+Alt+Del
Real Life Comics
Order of the Stick

I also used to read White Ninja but since the gratuitious violence has started to outweigh the touching strangeness I've lost interest.

Scary-go-Round is probably my favourite, along with the slightly earlier but just as charming Bobbins, by the same author/artist.
A number of others remain close to my heart, not least Overcompensating, Wigu, Sam and Fuzzy, Real Life, White Ninja, and VG Cats, as well as the ever-delightful CAD and Concerned. To name but a few.

Freefall (http://freefall.purrsia.com/), one of the most scientifically accurate web comics.
VG Cats (http://vgcats.com), for obvious reasons.
And a few others. Not sure if High Score or its successor Bonus Stage count because those concluded.

Megatokyo .... the only one i've bought the print version of.

[the author's rants are generaly not all depressing and "i suck"y anymore, before anyone mentions that, and it's getting back into action and explosions as well as everything else]

Sluggy Freelance is good, but yeah, the current arc is kind of... flat... at the moment. i'm betting it picks up somewhere along the way, and we all know the Psychopathic redhead won't stay dead :D

Shlock Mercinary is good.

Questionable content is awsome.

El Goonish Shive

Ctrl Alt Delete is sometimes awsome, sometimes lame, useualy at least mildly amusing.

Sinfest is just too much funny.

i have a Lot more i read, includeing quite a few already mentioned in this thread, but that's sort of my top list.

Least I Could Do: easily my favourite webcomic of all time.
VG Cats: Another of my favourites. Mainly for video game fans.
Penny Arcade: Pretty much like VG Cats, themewise. Another good one.
El Goonish Shive: Has been getting more serious recently, but is still pretty good.
8-bit Theatre: Hilarious at the start, but declines later on.
Filthy Lies: I'm surprised I haven't seen this one mentioned. Like 8-bit Theatre it has declined a little recently, but the good parts are very good.
Schlock Mercenary: nothing particularly special, but pretty good.
Elf Only Inn: Another great. If only it hadn't ended.
Ghastly's Ghastly Comic: Offensive and hilarious in equal measures.
Morning Glory: Easily the most offensive comic on my list, by several orders of magnitude. Only for those with... a certain kind of humour.
