Theres no such thing as a good day for fundies. If they thought anything was good, they wouldn't be fundies.

Is he even to continue even making a pretense of his "challenge" anymore?

Who's bitch is he going to become?

Yeah, the whole $250K thing.

I tend not to keep up with cheap entertainers like Hovind. I assume he offered $250K to anyone who could prove evolution (using his standards, of course).

His creationist theme park in Florida's been in trouble for a while, I think. One article I read about it made it seem a rather tacky affair.

Now we just need to get Fred Phelps. Are there any gays in here that are willing to hug Fred while naked? It may not actually do anything, but it'll be good for a cheap laugh. Hell I'll hug him naked if offered the right amount of money.

i often wonder whether there are any non-gays among the fundie leadership. the confession from a prostitute or getting busted by the cops thing just happens way too frequently over there. and even when it doesn't, you've got dobson saying that men should take showers with little boys so that they can admire teh penis (which is really just disturbing).

The Westminster Confession of Faith says on the subject:

Chapter VI Sections 5,6
"5. This corruption of nature, during this life, doth remain in those that are regenerated [Christians]: and although it be through Christ pardoned and mortified, yet both itself, and all the motions thereof, are truly and properly sin.

6. Every sin, both original and actual, being a transgression of the righteous law of God, and contrary thereunto, doth, in its own nature, bring guilt upon the sinner, whereby he is bound over to the wrath of God, and curse of the law, and so made subject to death, with all the miseries spiritual, temporal, and eternal."

Chapter XIII Sections 2,3
"2. This sanctification is throughout in the whole man, yet imperfect in this life; there abideth still some remnants of corruption in every part: whence ariseth a continual and irreconcilable war; the flesh lusting against the Spirit, and the Spirit agains the flesh.

3. In which war, although the remaining corruption for a time may much prevail, yet, through the continual supply of strength from the sanctifying Spirit of Christ, the regenerate part doth overcome: and so the saints [Christians] grow in grace, perfecting holiness in the fear of God."

Chapter XV Section 4,5
"4. As there is no sin so small but it deserves damnation; so there is no sin so great that it can bring damnation upon those who truly repent.

5. Men ought not to content themselves with a general repentance, but it is every man's duty to endeavor to repent of his particular sins particurally."

Chapter XVII
"1. They whom the Father hath accepted in his Beloved, effectually called and sanctified by his Spirit, can neither totally nor finally fall away from the state of grace; but shall certainly persevere therein to the end, and be eternally saved.

2. This perseverence of the saints [Christians] depends not upon their own free will, but upon the immutability of the decee of election, flowing from the free and unchangeable love of God the Father; upon the efficacy [effectiveness] of the merit and intercession of Jesus Christ; the abiding of the Spirit, and the seed of God within them; and the nature of the covenant of grace: from all which ariseth also the certainty and infalliblity thereof.

3. Nevertheless they may, through the temptation of Satan and of the world, the prevalency of corruption remaining in them, and the neglect of the means of their preservation, fall into grievous sins; and for a time continue therein: whereby they incur God's displeasure, and grieve his Holy Spirit; come to be departed of some measure of their graces and comforts; have their hearts hardened, and their consciences wounded; hurt and scandalize others, and bring temporal judgements upon themselves."

Anyone notice in the article that Haggard first denied even knowing Jones then changes his story? Wouldn't that be bearing false witness? How many more commandments can be broken here, let us count the ways.

you know, we all joke about the fundie line that gay marriage will destroy the marriages of straight people because it sounds so fundamentally silly. but i think there might be a bit of subjective truth to it. from their point of view, the only thing keeping them from openly proclaiming their love of hot sweaty men is the perceived social disapproval of it. if that went away, they probably would get rid of their straight marriage beards right quick.

which makes for yet another argument in favor of equal rights for all sexual orientations - it would utterly destroy the fundie movement in one fell swoop.

I for one believe the pastor when he said it was just a massage. He just neglected to point out that it was his prostate that was being massaged.
