uh, I found a way, but it was in printing preferences, so that's likely to be specific to my printer.

Select the AutoShape, picture, clip art, or WordArt that you want to flip.

On the Drawing toolbar, click Draw, point to Rotate or Flip, and then click Flip Horizontal or Flip Vertical .

you are using Word right?

*joins you in hopelessness*I think she wants to print a mirror image of the page onto a special t-shirt-iron-on-thing so that she can can the image right way round when it's ironed onto the t-shirt. I think.

sorry, it's a page that you can print things on your computer on and then you can iron on those things to a t-shirt or whatever. I am trying to help someone do it, but they don't have word, they have open office and I can't remember how to do it so I have them bitching over my shoulder and whining and bitching and I have a headache and I am about to snap if you guys don't help me.......

what about wordperfect, works wordpad...

can you save the file as a picture? then use paint or other graphic programs to flip it?

you could try copy and pasting the text into paint. then go to the 'image' drop down menu and click on 'flip/rotate', then click on flip horizontally.

you should find the reverse command somewhere in the print settings.

I was just about to write exactly what IR just wrote. It's quick and it's dirty, but it'll work. And quick'n'dirty ain't always bad.

/me returns to his dinner.

Edit: Pah, Fass deleted his post before I could reply "Wouldn't an iron be better?". Ho hum.

should be a printersetting for it. If your printer can print those iron onthings, it will have a setting to reverse the image(it will probablybe called image). Or there will be a setting to print for an iron on logo (possibly called press-print or something stupid like that).

*off-topic: Witt-Witt, I found a function in OpenOffice that's called Schusterjungenregelung, and the oher one's Hurenkinderregelung...:schock:*

I was about to suggest converting it to an image and then re-import and rotate it, too.. I found how to spin it around and do all sorts of other tricks, but I don't get the mirror reverse ... yet.

Smunkee, I found an 'mirror reverse' (either vertically or horizontally) on my 'format' menue thingy (or whatever it is called in English), but it doesn't seem to want to become available..for my text..

Judging from the shock, I'm guessing the "J" should be an "H", eh? Then again, lawyers do have a bad reputation. :p[/off-topic]

perfectness! And if there's more than just text or you're using word art of some sort then you could use the printscreen function, and then paste into paint.

it's not working.....there are no printer settings other than the usual stuff.

I think I am going to leave, go home, do it right on my computer, export it as a pdf, and email it to them......getting tired of the whining. :(

I edited as you typed..Hurenkinder indeed. What.the.hell of a text edit function is that?!

Have you tried the converting to image / import / mirror thing? I'd say it's bound to work, just like all the others?

can you save it as a graphic and open it up in Paint... you can then flip it using the IMAGE then FLIP/ROTATE command.

Oh here is an idea kind of expensive if you do it a lot but you could print it on a transperensy. Then flip it upside down on the copier and copy onto the iron-on or scan it then print.

And where, pray tell, does one 'download' Word? And I reject the notion that you get Word aka the Microsoft Office package with *every* computer. They're trying, and hard, but it's not a 100% monopoly yet.. and *gasp* there are people who enjoy, even prefer, OO...

That, too, although things tend to matter to me more when it comes to presentations/Impress. Here at uni people tend to send their presentations round via email and PP majorly sucks in that respect.

If you are helping, and they are complaining, tell them to figure it out for themselves and leave them to it.
