The Offspring - Americana

I've come to the conclusion that the Offspring are mediocre. Not unlistenable, but mediocre.

The only good album they've made is Smash.

Well, I've got ignition, SMASH, and AMERICANA. Right now, I'm listening to AMERICANA. And it rocks. :D

what about ixnay on the hombre

Smash, Ixnay on the Hombre, and Conspiracy of One are vastly superior, and they're generally not a legendary band.

I only have the first three albums. Are the others worth it?

Americana is the fourth album ;)
For me ignition is meh, Smash is good, Ixnay on the hombray is ok but going downhill already and then it gets steadily worse.

Huh. Gee. See? Shows how much I know about Offspring. So, it Ixnay worth it?

Americana has some great songs on it (The Kids Ain't Alright), but Smash was the best of the ones I've listened to. Never heard Ignition, though...

Ixnay On The Hombre was their last good album. It had a gem that clocked in at just over two minutes, and that gem was called "Way Down The Line". It's funny, because "All I Want" is generally the most popular song from the album, though it doesn't even touch the brilliance of the former. Still a good song, though.

If only they actually bothered to write songs that are as good as the ones that I mentioned, they wouldn't suck so much these days.

It's a better album than Americana, to be sure. I still have a fondness for their sound, but it hasn't worn half as well as I'd thought it would at the time.
