This topic is a joke!
With the disclaimer out of the way...
A few days ago I was thinking and my train of thought drifted to religion.
After a while, I thought, "Would Religion X work if you replaced God with fairies?"
I thought a bit more, and it not only works as well, it works even better then with just any old deity.
Think about it: it takes away the three-beings-in-one weirdness from Christianity, it takes away the problem of evil, it takes a way the "Could God make a burrito so hot he couldn't eat it?" paradox, the only real problem is that you have to just accept that there are fairies, which you already have to do anyway with (your deity here).
So then (and I want to repeat that I don't mean any of this seriously) I thought, "Could you replace fairys with smurfs?".
Well, there's no reason why not, really.
So therefore:
Papa Smurf is god. :p

You missed the word 'bad' from your title.
Hey... :(
Wanna fluffle? :fluffle:
This will be closed soon, not doubt about it.
However, in the meantime, the OP apparently cannot separate Catholicism from other denominations of Christianity.

It was going well until you reached the 'A few days ago...' bit.

I blinked. What happened? What did I miss?
I'd probably get forum banned for saying what I want to.
But, it irritates me when people show a complete lack of respect for a belief system I hold very dear.
Please show more respect towards religion. Or at least make your jokes in good taste.
Before more people get mad at me for bashing on Christianity:
It works with any religion, I just used Christianity as an example because it's biggest.
Works fine with Judaism, Islam, Hinduism, any religion that actually has a deity
to replace.
EDIT: Two things:
First, I edited the first post, so this post isn't nesissary.
Second, I just realized that without angry people posting in this topic, nobody posts in this topic. Oh well.
When you say that, it feels like you are trying to make the religions less sacred. For some reason, people don't like it when you do that to something they've been following their whole life.
But then again, I suppose you did say this is a joke. I suppose I should not be as mad.
There's one great difference between fairies and God: We know that fairies are just made up, but God's existence is a matter of belief. With God, you can take it or leave it, but fairies are just make-believe creatures.

No offence, but if you're on NS, your religion is probably going to get less sacred even without this topic.

Try to prove (or disprove) God.
...
You can't, right?
Now, try to prove (or disprove) fairies.
...
You can't, right? (If you did, try to (dis)prove God with it. It'll probably work as well as with fairies, and since you dismissed that possibility with God, you have to dismiss it with fairies too)
So, they work about the same, all in all.
That doesn't make any correlation with God or Fairies. God is labelled as an omniscient, omnipotent being that controls the things within his/her domain without regards to the laws placed down within said domains. God is also a logical father/mother figure that creates destroy.
Fairies are entities that manipulate things though still the logical pattern and rules placed in the domain they exist within.
God(s) create, fairies change.
I'm not going to argue the nature of fairies on NS.
That's ingenious. Ignore the people who can't handle the fact that the thing they are worshipping can be replaced with blue midgets, without much change.

Thanks for the compliment, I guess.
