He was being disruptive . Allen is under no oblgation to answer his questions and if the guy gets out of line he gets removed.

What about if I walked up to Menendez in NJ and asked him "when do you expect to be indicted "?

How long before I got my ass kicked ? Get real both sides and all campaigns are the same .

He's a former Marine ..he should have kicked some ass of his own .

When is asking legit questions "being disruptive"? All allen had to do was ignore the guy. Instead his thugs took it too far, and it's all on tape.

Ok- he was stopped even before he started to ask his question- Did he really expect to trot right up to a senator for a personal contact?
They have protection around them for a reason.

Next week, lets see him approach Hillary Clinton in the same manner.

He was looking for trouble and he got a little.

If hes a former marine, shouldnt he be able to kill all of those guys with his little finger?

I think the guy had the right to ask some questions, but really he shouldn't really just walked up to the guy's face.

There was nothing threatening about his approach. He never got physically close to Allen. He was, however, expressing his right as a voter to ask a question of his elected representatives. And he got triple-teamed for his efforts.

Whether he was a Marine or not doesn't matter, the body guards are likely better trained and armed.

So an unknown person tries to push past a security detail and gets taken down. The unprecedented part of this is where?

Do you expect to walk up directly to a senator without being blocked somehow ?

Please-I wont even get into the backpack.

You can call your senator or mail/email him with legitimate questions. Be prepared not to get any answer or a standard, canned "Thanks for your interest-blah,blah,blah."
Or-you can try an ambush on film, but be prepared to get a lump or two.

This guy never truly expected to have a meaningful exchange of questions and answers. He set out to have a physical confrontation.

That whole "being followed by a camera" thing is nice and convienent, eh?

I think it should have shot him on sight. This is obvious a gross sign of weakness on the part of his bodyguards.

If you had done what Stark did and Menendez's people had attacked you, I'd be just as upset. If you're a politician, you're supposed to expect getting asked uncomfortable questions--politics is a contact sport, after all. Allen needs to get a helmet.

Hell, Allen's lucky he's getting it now. If he'd run for President in 2008, whichever challenger got Rove to advise him would have been far worse on the primary trail.

You say a marine vet? Well this just means that Allen is a spokes person for the GOP, and since Sen. Allen clearly hates the marines, thus un american, so are the GOP.

See? It doesn't work just for John Kerry's remarks!

It looked like a "pie in the face" scheme thwarted.

I hope someone rushes Hillary for a little impromtu Q & A and lets see how that goes for comparison purposes.

Nah-that may not work- Secret Service protection for life and all.

They mentioned this in the college newspaper. Didn't read anything about him being a former marine, though.

If he's a Marine Iraq vet, he may be short a limb or two.
