Hmmm... random thought. If a fundie like Pat Robertson got invited to a Halloween party...

"Dear Mr. Robertson,
I would like to invite you to my 13th annual Halloween party. It's going to be lots of fun! There will be guys dressed in drag, women dressed like guys, plenty of people dressed up as witches, goblins, ghosts, Harry Potter characters, and of course little devils. I promise you it's going to be the most wicked fun time you've had in your life.
If you're interested in coming, the party is at 666 Hell's Gates Lane, Inferno, KS. If you need directions just call 666-1313.
Hope to see you there! --Holly Witcher"

Good? Lacking something? I think it's kinda dry myself... ;)

I suspect that a religious fundamentalist would see this for what it is and treat it accordingly. Round filing indicated

THE HORROR! *Crosses self a thousand times*

Really, anyone would just throw it away. Why would it scare anyone? Unless they truly not right in the head.

*Waits for joke that anyone who is a Fundamentalist must not be right in the head*

Well, anyone not right in the head would believe that and go crazy. So, it would probably scare a Fundamentalist..

"Dear Mr. Robertson,
I would like to invite you to my 13th annual Halloween party. It's going to be lots of fun! There will be cross-dressers, plenty of people dressed up as witches, goblins, ghosts, Harry Potter characters, and of course little devils, And as we celebrate All Hallows Eve, There will be lots of activites available, There will be bobbing for apples, a seance by our local gypsy, fortunetelling and I think someone mentioned an Ouiji board... but the best part is when midnight draws near, the lights go off and everyone has to then kiss the person next to them, and at midnight, the lights come back on and everyone unmasks themselves.
I promise you it's going to be the most wicked fun time you've had in your life.
I we did invite the local chapter of the Gay and Lesbian support group, and we also hope you and yours will be able to attend.

Lemme try a different approach.

Dear Mr. Pat Robertson.

My brother is taking me to a party for Halloween, and I have a really important question for you! We're going to be doing all sorts of things! They'll be candy, and cake, and something my big brother calls a "joint". He said I'm finally old enough! *smilie face goes here* Then, we do a game called "spin the bottle". I've never heard of it before, but my brother said I'd like it. At midnight we have a seance and a... wiigee board... I think that's how it's spelled. Anyway, my big question, what should my costume be? THANKS! -*your name here*

this would just convince them that the devil was leading you to torment them. they'd take it as proof of their faithfullness and redouble their efforts. antagonism can be a very strong binding force for a community - ask the jews.

Probably scare them, and reinforce their view of the out-group homogeneity of us folk who don't have our undies in a bundle.

I was considering, as a sort of post-modern move for Halloween, shaving my beard and digging out some of my old JW literature and dressing like one of them for a halloween party. Whaddya think? Would that be scary?

I'd suspect he wouldn't be bothered at all - fundies like him use religion as a means to and ends and have no actual faith.

they're like vampires...just don't invite them in, or they'll get you. actually, they won't even accept blood transfusions, so I suppose they'd make pretty shitty vampires.

seriously, I invited them in once to try and convert me, but they wouldn't do it. I told them a good time to come back and that I'd love to hear what they believed, and they never showed up. *shrug*

Things to add:

-Fake Pagan sacrifice (what they REALLY did on 10/31)
-Pentacles everywhere, pointed tip down
-Fundie MUSLIMS! (A true Christian Fundie's worst fear :p )
-Call it Hell On Earth 2006 and have the host be called Satan (and have them dress accordingly)
-GLTB (or whatever the abbreviation is)

There. That should do it.

.
She dressed very modestly, made sure she had a big-ass cross on a chain around her neck, carried a large bible under her arm, and referenced God and Jesus [in an obnoxious way] every time she spoke. It wasn't hard to figure out who she was trying to represent.

It's slightly out of season but instead suggest that they should campaign to have Yule formally recognised as a public holiday.
