In another thread, some posters talk about how there's not enough fun threads on NS anymore, well I decide to start a series of fun thread for us to talk about, you know to sit back, relax, and shoot the breeze. The first installment of this fun thread series will be the hobbies thread! So, tell us about your hobbies!
My hobby is aviation, I love it! I have Microsoft Flight Sim X, Aviation's DVD, I'm a pilot, and I visit aviation related website on almost a daily basis. Heck I'm creating an aviation related website. I just love the feeling I get when I fly, and I love looking at the earth from anywhere from 3,000 feet to 6,000 feet in the air, and it really is a great hobby to get into. So, tell us about your hobbies!
I grow Bonsai trees.....
Please do not make fun of me, I'm angry as it is. I had to bring my trees in the house for the night because of Devil's night, I'm pretty sure they'll get confused thinking its spring and start growing again...*grumble*

I doubt the Bonsai tree will grow that much if you just bring them in for one night.

The Junipers grow all year round, so no issue there. What I am worried about is my decidous trees, japanese maples, Crabapples ect. they sprout buds and keep growing them till the leaves fully unfurl, then they fall off and the tree goes through the whole wintering process again....
I'm already worried about them, we pretty much had no Fall this year, it was below freezing by early October.

That's ridiculously cool. I'm trying to convince someone to get me a cheapo bonsai tree for a present. I just think it'd be really fun. I do pretty well with most plants, so I don't know why I couldn't do well with that too.

Interestingly enough, despite the stereotype of the zen bonsai-tree grower, most bonsai afficianados that I've met were very angry people.
My hobbies include rape, arsene, robbery and rape.

I play viola, guitar, some piano, I sing, and I can drum very basic rhythms. I also write (fairly well), practice martial arts, and read damn near constantly.
I also have no life outside of my computer and my band.

I was under the impression that, if in a small pot, they physically can't grow?:confused:

I do NSG, video games and such during the week days. the weekends are spent drinking or being with friends, but 90% of time its both.And for some reason I dream of being a fisherman, a lot of late. Oh and porn, lots of porn:p

I'm an actor (yeah, run and hide...) and a singer. But Musical Theatre's my intended career, so maybe it doesn't count as a hobby. I'm also rather fond of baking, writing, running, doing pilates, watching movies, and collectivising innocent people's farmland.

I enjoy long walks on the beach romantic movies cuddling up on a bear skin rug in front of a nice warm fire place.
On the weekends i perform onstage at the local Arts theatre as a gay comedian named Chris(Say it with a lisp darling)
I am currently involved in an organ harvesting scam and enjoy black men.

I play hockey (not ice hockey, normal hockey). I broke my thumb in last week's game though, so I'll be out of action for about four weeks (should have been playing tonight in fact).
I enjoy watching live sport, so I regularly go to Collingwood matches (Aussie Rules), the cricket in summer & have recently been to a few of the new A-League soccer games. Melbourne Victory are really kicking arse this season.
I spend quite a bit of time on the PC, NS & playing games.
I enjoy reading books, but I find I'm doing so less & less. Must be all the time I spend on the PC I think.
I go to my weekly French class.
That's about it I'd say.

I'm a Warhammer 40,000 nerd, I just love collecting and painting the little models, I don't bother playing it much as the only person I could play against was my brother, and 9 times out of ten it would end up in a fist fight. (I would win of cource :D )
People can have other hobbies AND NS?

i don't know squat about aviation, but flying is fun indeed :P
my main hobby/interest is probably photography, though i don't get to do it as much as i'd like :( i'm making my own photography website as a portfolio of my pics, and a seperate site to sell my work-related pics to the press, who we recieve many queries from and get published at least monthly :)
other hobbies would be videogames a la the xbox360 these days, graphic design, and politics/debate. i also have a passion for 80s comedy movies :D
edit: also love creative writing, but again don't get to indulge as much as i'd like, or as much as i used to. i think depression sucked the creativity out of me, but its starting to come back :) working too hard to really get into my book, but one day i might have the chance to work on it again. not so keen on reading mostly because its a lot of effort with being mildly dyslexic and photosensitive... means it takes a lot of concentration to read and its simply no fun, unless the book is particularly worth it :P
