kind of like a special land for my favourite teletubie.
i'm bored and dont want do filing.

i know alot people who really hate poles. i was argueing at a white power ralley, that poles are good for ireland cause they have a simular culture to ours or at least simular back in the 60's. we need them them to stay to combat the influx of liberal hippies and to keep a conservative majority. also nice beer.
i dont usually go to white power rallys, on basis i get shouted at for not being a racist.

dam it, cant edit topic name to fix spelling.

but people have stereotypes for a reason. not every person is like the stereotype of there country, but theres still a truth to it. like the irish stereotype of drinking alot. alot of irish people do like to binge drink.

EDIT: I think you meant that the Polish are plumbers (http://newsimg.bbc.co.uk/media/images/40841000/jpg/_40841618_plumber.jpg) of France. Easy mistake to make. You know, France is also a country in Europe. Pretty weird.

Let's ignore the OP. Don't you think the Poles have a bit of a negative image? I know they do in Germany (years and years of driving across the border to get old TVs and couches on trash collection day, I reckon).

I've actually never felt the arrival of the Poles in the EU, and the subsequent entry of workers into the UK, has been a particular problem. The ones I've met have generally been hardworking, friendly, and doing the jobs that no one else will do.

You can't live in London then, the place is full of them. They have a good work ethic, which is great, unless you live next door to someone who is using Polish builders who see nothing wrong with grinding tiles outside your bedroom window at 8am on a Saturday morning.

Well, there's always been tension (perhaps understandable), but it's now with the brothers having gotten themselves into power due to populism and "us against them" rhetoric that things have gotten a bit shaky.

Still, I don't think the normal Poles have a problem with the Germans, and today I'd hope that the same holds vice versa. So it'll blow over, I reckon.

The only thing the Polish government is never going to like is that pipeline in the Baltic between Russia and Germany, which cuts Poland out of the loop, so to speak.

*Lol*

I work all over London and have met a few. Only liked one of the Poles I've met so far, but then the others were bastard snobby embassy types. I have a half-pole friend who's lovely but her mum is just weird. So out of the Poles I've met so far.....I like one and a half!:p

In a way the tension is perhaps understandable, but it's all history, I'm assuming we're talking WW2 etc. here. England has no issues with Germany or Japan or any other opposing country of that era. I just assumed all that was dead and buried.

I hope it does blow over cos there's more than enough worldwide tension at present.

The Ducks (as the Kaczynski twins are jokingly referred to, kaczka=duck) may make some problems, and have some idee fixe's, but there could be worse ;) .

As for the pipeline, we've always had a problem when Germany and Russia did something over our heads ;)

Everyone stole half of Poland's land! Many times! ;)

As for the Germans...with the exceptions of a few demented people (which seem to get a lot of coverage in the Polish media), they couldn't give much of a shit these days. They have enough land in the east to absorb and reconstruct as it is.

So what land did they "steal?"
Didn't they teach you anything at school?

WWII was really started by the Polish government trying to bully all the Germans out of Danzig and the corridor by means of genocide! Taking a bit of a short cut gone wrong, they ultimately succeeded in taking significant bits of Germany away from the poor victims, meaning that the evil, conquering Poles should rightfully pay compensation to the poor defenseless Germans.

The sad thing is, the latter part isn't actually my idea (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Erika_Steinbach).
