Inspired by Markreich's suggestion in the "For Americans" thread, which was a real good idea, I decided to make the new poll.

What part of America are you from?

Nevada, which can't decide if it's Southwest, West Coast, or just West.

We like being strange that way. ;)

I'm in Florida, which I suppose qualifies as the south. However, I felt more at home in Michigan than I did in, say, Tennessee.

On the one hand I object to Texas being lumped in with the South.. but on the other hand, it's not quite the Southwest, so....

I live in the most beautiful part: the Pacific Northwest.

However, because the best schools are back east, I'll probably be in Pennsylvania or DC next year.

By Midwest shall I assume you mean the Great Lakes region, since you have Plains on there as well?

Anyway, I live in central Michigan, about 150 miles northwest of Detroit.

Don't really know much about it, but I thought Reed is supposed to be very good?

If your talking about colleges, of course. And there seem to be plenty of good schools in california.

Well, Texas DID seced with the rest of the orginal southern Confederate states, so I think it's regional guilt by association.

As my location says, I'm from Southern California. I was born and raised there; I still maintain my permanent residence there. But I live in Hawaii because Pearl Harbor is where the Navy has seen fit to station me.

I guess Chicago is technically in the midwest, but I'm not so sure it counts. Its a completely different culture and speed than the cornfields and small towns one normally thinks of when they imagine the midwest.
