This is for a presentation I am currently working on. If you could answer the folloing pole question

Do you consider your voting patterns or political views to be strongly motivated by a particular ideology or abstract concept?

It is vital that only Continental European users answer this questionare

What the deuce would a "continental" European be? Europe is a continent. You can't be a "non-continental" European, which makes "continental European" tautologous at best.

It excludes Britian, Ireland and Iceland

this is a flawed survey. continental european opinions are very split, varying from country to country.

Just a humble suggestion - you are unlikely to get a pure poll here, especially when done anon.

Those are part of the European continent, you know. So, no, it does not exclude them at all.

They are not part of the same land mass. Large bodies of water seperates them.

Err... depends on how you define land mass. Geographers often define continentral land masses by the continental shelf.

1. Landmass != continent. If landmass = continent, then there would be no Europe as it and Asia are on the same landmass. Britain, Ireland and Iceland are part of the continent of Europe, just like Odense is, just like Åland is, just like Sardinia is, just like Malta is, just like Sicily is, just like bloody Ibiza is, and so on.

2. "Large" bodies of water do not separate them at all. The English channel is not a "large body of water." The Atlantic ocean is a large body of water.

Well, too bad, serious or not, you are bound to have your polls screwed up here in NSG, because NSG is not a serious place.

Its not a question of the place being serious, its a question of the people treeting it seriously

If you would kindly treet it more seriously it would be most helpful of you.
Not bad

It is a seriously flawed way of doing what you are attempting then. Unless of course you are attempting something apart from your stated purpose. It is a seriously flawsd idea to do homework here. Attempting to seriously poll a worldwide anonymous intarweb forum which allows multiple accounts per individual is a good way to get skewed results. Attempting to exclude most of the members from answering the poll by SHOUTING AN ORDER IN CAPITAL LETTERS AND NOT EVEN HAVING THE COMMON COURTESY TO ASK MUCH LESS SAY PLEASE BECAUSE YOU ARE SERIOUS practically insures that your wishes for a geographicly clean poll will not be granted.

Indeed. And bringing up the homework aspect makes me wonder if this sort of thing is covered by the "NSG is not do my HW" rulings...

If you could answer the folloing pole question

Am I the only one thinking dirty thoughts? *hides*

And what exactly am I to consider an "ideology or abstract concept"? Do I have to vote 'yes' when I'm everything else but a voter who votes at the throw of a dice?
