Political Impersonations

Here in the UK we get to see very very few US political satire shows on tv - the only one I know of is the Today Show shown on E4 cable channel. Having watched it I have noticed that it seems to be basically just a spoof news show. Political satire on television in this country invariably comes from impersonations such as Dead Ringers and Rory Bremner. Can any of our american NSers provide me with a bit of a giggle and post some lovely US political satire involving impersonations? Who in the US does the best George Bush impersonation?

This is John Culshaw from the BBC programme Dead Ringers.

Dead Ringers is better on the radio, and watching Bremner, Bird & Fortune last Saturday (I think), I was surprised by how poor their material was. Used to be so much better.

Very true, but unfortunatly you can only atirise something if its there. The current extremely poor state of British politics is reflected in this. Blair and Cameron seem to be doing a pretty good job of satirising themselves without anyone elses help.

Maybe, but they did a few scenes on the controversy on the right of muslim women to wear the veil, and they were crap. And they spent half the show criticising Private Finance Initiatives and the NHS - not only are they easy targets, but they've been doing them for 18 months now.
