I couldn't help but tell you this - I've just been videoconferencing with my Great-granny. My mother set it up. she was originally convinced it was black magic, and told me she was writing to the chaplain. then, having been convinced herself that it was technology, she tried to stick her hand through to point out a smudge on my necklace. I couldn't help but laugh. sorry, its not funny if you weren't there, but I had to tell someone!

100 - only just. the old dear says she's hanging in until I pass the mental age of two.

That's actually mildly amusing, which puts this thread higher than most.

Well done.

That reminds me of when my great-aunt was still alive. I go in the hospital room with my parents, talk to her for a bit, then when I walk away she says to my mom, "You know, he's not as dumb as he looks." When I informed her that I could hear her, she told me that I shouldn't be ashamed of being smart.

and that reminds me of going to see a relative who was old (in her 90's) who said "I never liked that girl" and when I said "I am standing right here" she said "I know I am old, not blind" and then turned to my mom and said "see? she's not very bright either"

 :p
