I'm writing a story in Microsoft Word, and it's in the usal (A4) size*, but I'm going to submit it to a publishing site ( http://www.lulu.com - cool site but lots of info to get your head around ) and as it will be printed "as is", I want to change it so that it will be in a smaller format before I send it (eg. instead of a load of sentences over ONE page, a load of sntences over FOUR pages). Does anyone know how to do this IN WORD without having to convert it to another type of file (PDF etc)?

*Couldn't change topic title. wtf?

hmmmm

what size do you want it to be? can you perhaps change the margins to reflect the smaller page size? dont you have to know font and font size too?

what does the site give you for information?

I self published a workbook for a seminar I ran and I seem to remember there being step by step instructions at the cafe press website, if you go there and sign up you can get to it use their help page and still publish with lulu.com

other than that I don't know.

Can you not go to the File->Page Setup menu and choose the Paper tab and then select "Custom Size"? That should reformat it into the page size that you are looking for, if you know the dimensions.

Did a little bit of fiddling around after reading your post and just about sorted it. Tested it on a printout and it's just abit bigger than how I wanted it, but it'll do. Cheers.
