Harry Potter Is A Star Wars Rip Off

Just stumbled over this:

Finally... I always suspected it, but now hard solid proof has emerged that once and for all shows that J.K. Rowling (aka the great plagarist) stole her entire concept for Harry Potter from George Lucas' "Star Wars". For shame lady... for shame. The following document was taken from Rowlings purse at a London airport.

Many Bothans died to bring us this information. See for yourself

It should be noted though, that Star Wars itself is a rip off of Akira Kurosawa's Hidden Fortress (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Hidden_Fortress).

Well, there's a Chick tract (http://www.chick.com/reading/tracts/5012/5012_01.asp) about Harry Potter and I'm not aware that there is one about Star Wars.

I'm not sure if that answers your question though. :)

With as great as those books are, there still is no denying that they're not the most original things out there xp Creative, yes. Original, no. xp

This is stupid. All fiction follows a formula, especially within the same SciFi/Fantasy/Epic genre.

I worry more about the people who believe it's the only acceptable version **period** and that Jesus spoke English.

Very good. It also got me thinking:

Best mate falls in love with the girl.
Wise old man is "killed" protecting hero.

If Voldemort is Harry's dad, then it's case closed.

A long time ago in... uh... on this very forum Kejott has made a thread Star Trek vs. Harry Potter.

Besides the fact that I love Star Trek and hate Harry Potter (and thus my choice was clear from the beginning)

I'd like to see Harry Potter assimilated (resistance is futile, remember?) and the new Harry Potter movie should display exactly that: HP gets abducted by the Borg, becomes 5 of 12 and leads a boring, boring drone life in section A578/H2356 of Borg Cube SKH69334689U. Eventually he dies when the Borg try to assimilate a Romulan Warbird which selfdestructs and destroys 5 of 12's section. The end.
And I love Star Wars and hate Harry Potter.

Nothing has changed. Harry Potter never discovers his powers, volunteers to the Imperial Navy, and serves as cleaning personnel aboard a Star Destroyer (registration #SKH69334689U) in some forgotten part of the galaxy. His ship will eventually be blown up by Rebel forces during the battle at Endor, thus ending Harry's life in section A578/H2356 (the cleanest in the ship). The end.

I thought Harry got eaten by a wampa on Hoth. :p
