All the WWII comics I read when I was a kid, the nazis would always scream, "Gott in Himmel!" when Sgt. Rock or Nick Fury filled 'em full of lead. I was told 'himmel' meant 'heaven' by a German person of later acquaintance, but interestingly enough, when I tried translating 'himmel' on AltaVista Babel Fish it came back as 'sky' - and 'himler' - now, this is really odd - 'himler' came back translated into English as 'more himler'.

Basically, I cannot claim to have white pride, or pride in the various good things that caucasians have done throughout history. However, I can have pride in the things black, or asian, or south american, people have done. This skewed double standard is just stupid.

And on another note. The original Nazi party of Germany was actually the National Socialist Workers party. They were the farthest thing from racist you could get. But unluckily, thanks to Hitler, too many stupid people continuly associate Nazi symbology and Nazism itself to extreme racism, which just isn't the case. Hitler was not a nazi, he was a fascist, and one of the keys to a fascist government is Corporatism, not Socialism.

You can't be German. "Cuss" is an Americanism. I think you're more likely an American with German heritage, and therefore mistakenly believe you're German.

It should be "Gott im Himmel", which means god in heaven. Not quite as cheesy as "Mein Leben!" (my life! *rofl*) in Wolfenstein 3D...

We only have one word for sky and heaven, Himmel. I've never seen the word Himle before. The cute form is formed with -chen in German, so it would be Himmelchen. Which is the word for raspberries in my grandpa's local dialect, but that's not the point in this discussion ;)
